My Pillow guy's notes on 'martial law' captured by WaPo photographer -- as he entered the West Wing
Source: Raw Story
Controversial My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell was spotted entering the West Wing of the White House on Friday. Lindell, who has pushed the conspiracy theory about election fraud that incited the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, visited the White House hours after posting, "Keep the faith everyone! We will have our president Donald Trump 4 more years!"
C-SPAN and multiple members of the White House press corps noticed Lindell entering the West Wing. But it was Washington Post photographer Jabin Botsford who managed to capture part of the notes Lindell brought with him. While the entire width of the page is not visible, it is possible to read "...martial law if necessary upon the first hint of any..."
Lindell also appears to suggest moving former Devin Nunes aid Kash Patel to an acting role at the Central Intelligence Agency.
China and Iran also also mentioned.
New York Times reporter Kenneth Vogel wondered what part of the document had been crossed out.

yeah, invoking the 25th would be too divisive, meanwhile a clearly crazy president discusses invoking martial law... WITH. THE. MY. PILLOW. GUY.

(17,834 posts)What happens when a compulsive liar is given advice by a true believer in his BS lies? You get an impatient brush off. Trump knows that he lost, so what he wants is a way to keep power despite this fact. His problem is that at this point he has surrounded himself with crazy sycophants who believe his lies and conspiracy theories, so rather than come up with a plan that almost came to fruition such as disrupting Congress to disrupt the transition with false claims of election fraud (almost, but not quite), Trump is getting proposals from his sycophants that are predicated on proving the his conspiracy theories, which Trump really knows are full of crap. So, you get the exchange quoted in this article:
Lindell: Mr. President, this is real, you really won by at least 10 million votes.
Trump: Well, yeah, we all know there was fraud, Mike. (Send Lindell away).

Lindell says that after a five-to-ten minute meeting in the Oval, Trump asked someone to take the MyPillow inventor to a different room to show his documents to the lawyers, and then asked for staff to bring Lindell back afterwards. Following a roughly two hour wait, according to Lindell, he finally met with White House attorneys who dismissed his claims but said they would look into it. He was then not allowed to see the president again on Friday.
Maybe Trump got busy, I dont know, Lindell said in an interview on Friday evening.
During the meeting, Lindell says that he informed President Trumpwho after inspiring a deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol last week still hasnt accepted that his Democratic opponent beat him in the 2020 presidential electionthat materials alleging China and other nations involvement in a supposed anti-Trump election-hacking operation were all over the internet, but were being suppressed by Big Tech.

(287 posts)back in Dec. Pence and Pat Cipollone defended CIA director Gina Haspel, so Drumpf changed his mind. Per Axios article:

So, maybe Drumpf might do it now...

(8,790 posts)They regularly write stuff down on paper and carry it out, not even putting it in a folder, folio, or bag, for any photographer with a long lens and digital camera to see.
For the past 4 years we've seen how sloppy Trumpers are with papers.
And they're still using frigging paper! Its like they're trapped in 1985, what idiots.
This camera technology was around in Obama's time, but everyone serious about their jobs has never had this problem. When was the last time you heard of McConnell or Schumer ever having their notes photographed?
This fact alone should tell us how incompetent the Trump world is.

(6,899 posts)and it doesn't work in stopping a succession. Trump lost an election that has been certified. A lawyer would probably have to dig deep into the details to affirm, but as I read the law, he'd need the cooperation of the joint chiefs and congress, and it doesn't "suspend" the constitution, only certain portions of it temporarily. The transfer of power would still take place, the new President would inherit it.
