Fauci says lack of candor from Trump administration 'very likely' cost lives

Washington (CNN)Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday that the lack of truthfulness from the Trump administration regarding the Covid-19 pandemic "very likely" cost American lives.

"Particularly when you're in the situation of almost being in a crisis with the number of cases and hospitalizations and deaths that we have -- when you start talking about things that make no sense medically and no sense scientifically, that clearly is not helpful," Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, said on CNN's "New Day" Friday.

Asked by CNN's John Berman if the lack of candor over the last year and lack of facts, in some cases, cost lives, Fauci said, "You know, it very likely did."

He warned that it's "not helpful" when "you're starting to go down paths that are not based on any science at all," adding that he doesn't wish to rehash the ways in which the Trump administration steered away from science.

Started lying about the spreading virus and refused to take a national leadership roll to layout science based guidelines to control it.

Knowing your relatives and friends died needlessly because of Trump's incompetence and cowardly refusing to deal with the virus will effect millions of people.

Referring to the outbreak as the Democrat's "new hoax" killed people.

The only question, though unanswerable, is how many?

I appreciate your willingness to divulge this information to us.

While it’s not important for us to dwell on this inaction; I would implore you to further share this information with us as it’s a necessary part of discovery which I feel the public is owed to hear.

I look forward to hearing much more from Dr. Fauci.

Making refusing to wear a facemask a political act. Calling it a "Democratic hoax". Pushing useless therapies. Having superspreader rallies in areas with high infection rates. Silencing responsible scientists and having a quack as the administrations leader of the covid response team. Leaving the states to handle the problem with zero national coordination. These horrible actions caused hundreds of thousands of needless deaths. Donald trump is the greatest mass murderer in our countries history. Mass murder by incompetence and supreme indifference. He couldn't be bothered to do the work, it would interfere with his twitter rantings and his golf game.

he could not deal with or did not want to deal with, he called it a hoax, or fake news.

He did not want the work of being President. He wanted the trappings of office, the perks, but not the job. He never wanted the job.
