Wuhan's COVID-19 outbreak probably 500% bigger than first thought, WHO team tells CNN

Source: Business Insider

Investigators from the World Health Organization (WHO) have found signs that the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019 might have been more widespread than initially thought, according to CNN.

"The virus was circulating widely in Wuhan in December, which is a new finding," lead investigator Peter Ben Embarek told the media outlet.

Chinese scientists told the WHO team that around 174 cases of COVID-19 in and around Wuhan in December, CNN's Nick Paton Walsh reported.

WHO's investigation suggests that there might actually have been over 1,000 infections during that month, CNN said.

They live in tight quarters, hard to imagine only 174 cases in the month of Dec.
I'm not even buying the 1000 infections for the month of Dec.

500%?

It’s the difference between 186 and 1,000—around 800 cases.

It could be 3,000% larger because the number 186 is so low.

Whatever the number is, they got it wrong starting with China, WHO, Trump, and his propaganda machine.

Why? Because the CDC wasn’t allowed (by Trump and China) to do crucial investigative work in Wuhan during the Winter of 2019. By February, 2020 it was too late.

A possible 1000 cases -- up from a possible 180 -- in a city of 11 million? A lot of people are going to try to make this into something that it is not -- namely conspiracy, cover-up or negligence. And this is hardly such evidence.

Please take a look at halts and starts, stumbles and missteps of health systems and governments around the globe -- AFTER they had some heads up and advanced knowledge concerning the virus (yeah looking at you WHO, CDC, U.S.) -- then come back and tell me about all the failures and "misses" by the Chinese system. Yeah, probably not perfect -- but is wasn't a nefarious plot -- and nobody came away from this with a perfect score or anything like a flawless record.

China's COVID Secrets -- Frontline, aired February 2, 2021. The Chinese were in to cover-up and minimization from the beginning. They knew what the stakes were.

They were pulling out all the stops to build hospitals from the ground up.

Anyone who did not see this as a big deal was just lying (Donald).
