Capitol Rioter with 'Slicked Back' Hair Faces Charges After His Banker Identified Him to the Feds

Source: Law and Crime

Federal prosecutors in Washington, D.C. have identified and charged a man they say assaulted a capitol police officer during the Jan. 6th siege on the U.S. Capitol Complex. According to a criminal complaint unsealed Wednesday, the defendant, Clayton Ray Mullins, stood out in videos of the scene due to his hairstyle. Mullins is accused of attacking an officer known in the documents only as “A.W.”

“In the footage, MULLINS was observed wearing a dark colored jacket, black gloves and light blue jean pants,” the complaint reads. “Numerous videos and photographs of MULLINS assaulting A.W. were posted on Twitter, primarily under the hashtag #seditionhunters. In addition, the hashtag #slickback began trending in relation MULLINS and the slicked back style in which he wore his hair.”

Officer A.W. reported that he was pulled into the crowd outside the Capitol Complex, kicked, stomped, and struck with poles, the documents say. The crowd ripped off his helmet, sprayed him with mace, and took his baton, his gas mask, and his department-issued cell phone. A.W. was able to take back his gas mask and retreated into a capitol tunnel. Once inside, another officer noticed A.W. was bleeding; the head wound required two staples.

The documents say Mullins grabbed A.W.’s foot and helped the crowd drag the officer down a set of stairs. Another officer tried to hold A.W.; what resulted was a “battle of tug of war” between the crowd and the other officer — with A.W.’s body in the middle.

A Kentucky man is accused of grabbing a police officer and dragging him down steps outside the U.S. Capitol building during the riot on Jan. 6, according to newly unsealed federal court records.

Clayton Ray Mullins, a Benton man who was detained by federal agents Tuesday, allegedly was seen in YouTube videos assaulting a D.C. metropolitan police officer during the riot, according to an FBI affidavit filed in court. The officer was hospitalized.

Video showed Mullins grabbing at the officer while on the Capitol building steps, eventually managing to get hold of his leg and “violently pulling on it,” according to the affidavit. The officer was dragged down the steps.

Another officer at the scene was shown on body camera video trying to pull the officer away from Mullins, which led to a “battle of tug of war” over the officer, according to the affidavit.

All of these preliminary charges and also people released on bail will be addressed once Garland takes over. His people will be sure to charge these scumbags fully and make sure most do not get released.

The nightmare for Trump's stooges is just beginning. The Garland DOJ will review every case and make sure they all get what they deserve.

I'd love to hear the "police-loving" Republican argument for calling this trash a "patriot."

Don't get me wrong, I know they'll find a way, but they will need a special kind of verbal contortionist to manage it

Calling Frank Luntz. They'll need someone of his talents to make this thug somehow sound human again.

These accounts, I just shake my head and ask how a person gets to the place where they will do something like this to their fellow citizen—and a law enforcement officer at that.

Think about it. All these people had to be dumb enough to believe Trump (a known filthy liar), travel to DC, buy his "Trump" hats and flags, and then make the decision to storm the capital as a mob. To do what? To keep a guy in power that - fittingly - lied that he was going to join their mob. No, Trump was watching on TV, safely far away from the action. Probably sipping a diet coke. All these idiots deserve jail. Maybe when they are locked up, and meet their new "boyfriend" in their cell, they might have a small case of regrets.
