KKK Leader's Remains Dug Up and Removed From Memphis Park

Source: daily beast

Published Jun. 12, 2021 12:03AM ET

The remains of Confederate general and KKK leader Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife were dug up from a Memphis park and removed, along with a statue, to an undisclosed location. Descendants of Forrest, who was also a slave trader, were present during the exhumation, which was sparked by a grassroots effort to have monuments to racists removed from the city, the Commercial Appeal reported. “I think the Forrest family wanted the remains of their ancestor to rest in peace, because there was never going to be peace here,” Shelby County Commissioner Van Turner said. The remains and statute will eventually be transferred to the National Confederate Museum.

WTF??? First of all, there is nothing NATIONAL about it, other than the fact that I'm sure there is at least one racist/secessionist per state. Celebrating one of the most shameful regimes in history??? SMDH

From their "About Us" page:

"The truth about the South’s struggle to form a new nation is under attack as never before. The National Battlefield Parks have be taken over by the “it’s all about slavery” provocateurs. Museums have changed their collections and interpretations to present what they call the cultural history of the War for Southern Independence. In reality this new perspective is nothing more than a rewrite of the story of the South. The forces of political correctness are in high gear as they attempt to ban any and all things Confederate through their ideological fascism."

Struggle to form a new nation? Sure, one that legalized the right to own, buy and sell human beings.
Ideological fascism? Doesn't that sound like what they want to impose on anyone with a contrary (in their view, PC) opinion?

MANY prominent Confederate figures stated openly and unequivocally that their secession was about slavery. The flags were about slavery. Everything was.

That would seem appropriate for the traitor.

(I played him in a school play way back in about 4th grade. I didn't know anything about him except that he got thar fustest with the mostest. That was my one line.)

Would be fitting if these graves gets moved multiple times over the next 100 years as folks reflect on Forrest's deeds and decide that they want nothing to do with him.
