GOP Election Analyst 'Aghast' at Arizona Audit as State Senator Threatens U.S. Attorney General
Source: Newsweek

A Republican election analyst who voted for former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election said he's "just aghast" at the way the GOP-backed election audit in Arizona's Maricopa County has moved forward. Meanwhile, a Republican state senator threatened to imprison Attorney General Merrick Garland after he announced that the Justice Department would scrutinize any post-election audits to ensure they comply with voting laws.
The audit of Maricopa County's 2.1 million ballots has been widely criticized, including by a number of Republicans. Arizona's Republican state Senate President Karen Fann and fellow state GOP lawmakers pushed forward the audit based on former President Donald Trump's baseless claims that the 2020 election was "rigged" or "stolen" by President Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Maricopa County previously conducted hand recounts in November, as well as a December audit that did not uncover any irregularities.
. . .
In response to Garland's speech, GOP Arizona state Senator Wendy Rogers threatened to put Garland in prison.
"You will not touch Arizona ballots or machines unless you want to spend time in an Arizona prison. Maybe you should focus on stopping terrorism. The Justice Department is one of the most corrupt institutions in the USA," Rogers tweeted on Friday.

(6,943 posts)Using images of military service to advance an anti-democracy message is wrong. Im not a veteran, but it seems she damages the good image of patriotic military veterans who are loyal to the United States.
Not loyal to the Republican political party only.
The military needs to address morons hiding under uniforms to spread anti-American messages.

That uniform she appears to be wearing, is it for a Halloween costume party she is going to?
It certainly can't be an actual military uniform. Because that would be certain proof she took the OATH at least once in her life.
So much for her integrity and honesty!

(6,876 posts)At this time, if they went strictly by the book, you know, the falsely yelling fire in a crowded theater scenario, they'd have to jail at least 28 million of the raving GQP lunatics. That would be the level of denying and loudly decrying the legitimacy of a sitting president. Somewhere just above the level of actively encouraging violent insurrection among one's fellow citizens. I was there myself when the little w squatted in the white house. Ms Rogers is in the next category of insurrectionists that actually serve in a position of political responsibility and who publicly threaten the normal function of and individual personnel who serve in government. I'm guessing that's about 0.25 million citizens ripe for the DOJ harvest. Then you have the 1/6/2021 style insurrectionist where the crimes vary: Some just loiter in restricted areas. For others it's breaking and entering while still others prefer assault and battery, even armed. and, of course, the ever popular, vandalism and looting. Around 600 and counting at this time.
So the question is: where does one draw the line? It illuminates one to the quandary faced by governments who resorted to "re-education" camps. Now that's a leap practically no one is, now at least, willing to make. We are all Henry II, surrounded by adversaries unassailable, seeking one who would provide a solution. In his case it was, famously, a "meddlesome priest" from whom he needed riddance and not hordes of mouth-breathing ninnies. Okay, so the comparison breaks down a bit, sheese.

(12,665 posts)They keep talking about "rigged" & their people will say "why bother?". Thats how the senate went to the Democrats in GA; 100s of thousands of GOP area voters who had voted in Nov stayed home for the runoff. They could have easily won BOTH seats but were too stupid & gullible to actually TAKE them! Yes, there were many new voters too, but the number of those who stayed home would've likely overtaken them

(38,603 posts)...just like their "audit."
They hired an inexperienced, not-certified, completely biased firm to do this job. They had no reason to expect that the "audit" would be anything other than what it is.
Maybe the idea all along was to hire a firm that didn't know what it was doing. After all, if this firm can't replicate its results, then their process is flawed. Well, it's taken months for them to audit about half of 2.1 million votes. If they end up having to do it again, they can continue to sow distrust in elections until next November.

I think he was tired of traitor and was toying with him. But traitor believed putin fixed the election and refuses to believe the putin fix didn't work.
Because check DU's Pic of the Moment: everything traitor accuses others of doing, he has done himself. Dems especially have not committed the crimes traitor not only is accused of, but there is evidence for:

(12,601 posts)There is a prohibition against wearing a military uniform in a political picture. It goes to the propriety of appearing that the DOD is endorsing the person. I think it's limited to active duty DOD personnel; if she's in the Arizona National Guard they might have different rules.
Anyway, wearing a flight suit for an official campaign photo is tacky. You do not wear a blue t-shirt in such a way that it shows.

(6,206 posts)here is the opening paragraph from her site.
Wendy Rogers Has Led A Life Of Service To Her Country And Her Community.
Daughter of a long line of Army officers, in 1976 Lt. Col. Wendy Rogers was commissioned as a 5th-generation military officer into the Air Force from Michigan State University with her bachelors degree and then masters degree from the University of Alabama in Clinical Social Work. She began her career treating patients in the Air Force mental health clinic. In 1981, Wendy Rogers became one of the first 100 women pilots in todays Air Force by earning her wings at Williams AFB in Arizona. Following Air Force jet training, Wendy piloted worldwide airlift and humanitarian missions in the C-141 transport jet for several years. Wendy then served as a flight instructor for cadets at the US Air Force Academy. The latter half of Wendys 20-year Air Force career placed her overseas. While in Europe, Wendy piloted Air Force C-21 Learjets and led three different operational divisions at Headquarters US Air Forces Europe. During the fall of the Berlin Wall and efforts to improve relations with former East Bloc countries, Wendy was deployed for six months downrange to run the Bosnian Airlift. She finished her career with over 3,000 hours of jet time and numerous commendations, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
This is not to defend her but I am posting this because she did serve.

(12,601 posts)As a retiree, there are specific occasions where she can wear a uniform -- my question is whether she can wear it at political events or in political photographs. The regulations seem to suggest she can't.
Just to be picky, as a former Air Force Reserve crew member, I wonder why she's posing in her flight jacket? I've also been assuming the photo is for a political ad -- it might just be her high school yearbook photo.
