Gov. Ricketts sending Nebraska state troopers to southern border

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Kylee Haueter

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts announced Saturday that the state would be sending about 25 Nebraska state troopers to the nation’s border in Texas.

Ricketts joined Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Idaho Gov. Brad Little in stating his plans to send law enforcement officers to the area after Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent a letter requesting that other governors send available law enforcement resources to the border.

Ricketts did not say how costs for the deployment would be covered. A spokesman for the governor on Saturday did not address questions about who would pay for the deployment.

As was the case in Florida and, according to the Idaho Statesman, in Idaho, logistical details of the Nebraska deployment were still being worked out after the governor’s announcement.

Gov. Pete Ricketts speaks on the last day of the legislative session on May 27.

The crazed GOP are manifacturing another faux crisis to gear up for 2022 midterms & rile up their deplorable base of miscreants, in the same fashion the Con sent National Guards to the border against the 'caravan of aliens' invading our nation. This disinformation is so dangerous. I wonder what the DOJ can do about it.

Obviously he doesn't give a shit about public safety in Nebraska, he's hoping all those white farmers are total bigo5s about brown people. What he fails to realize is that those farmers often rely on seasonal workers who are brown people from Central America.

I do hope this stupid stunt backfires spectacularly enough to wake people up. Republcans don't govern. They only come up with schemes to play on fears that will keep them in power.

bill where people can get guns without permits.

For those interested in history around the World and like to do some study about how dictatorships, totalitarian regimes form? That is one of the steps in the build up to slowly create a militia where people don't even realize it is happening.

One of the newest case studies is Venezuela, that is how Hugo Chavez started his militia, called "The Colectivos", they were equipped with guns and motorcycles, and because the majority of the people were already criminals, they had no qualms on shooting people, killing them during peaceful marches, and then they went on to a "rob & kill" campaign, they also became kidnappers and thus creating panic around the nation.

The forces in USA need to stop the craziness from these governors, the people need to wake up and vote them out while the CIA and FBI begin the process of dismantling the groups associated that make up the militia, like the "Proud Boys" and all these white supremacist groups.

This doesn't look good, when governors start messing around with the military then what is to come is not good because they WILL empower the military to an extent where they will feel empowered and when people least expect it, abuse from those who have the weapons will begin. I expect that this could possibly start a civil war because the difference between a country like Venezuela and the USA is that in the USA even the good guys have weapons, there will be a pushback, but the ideal situation is to not allow it to happen.

We MUST all vote come 2022, we need to get the evil bastards out of office!

What purpose do "law enforcement" personnel serve in a humanitarian crisis? They're not trained or equipped for assisting in the organization of mass population's care and feeding, much less arbitrating these these thousands of people's cases. So many people think gun carrying officers are required because there're armed people invading our country. That's simply not the case on any level. These governors need to send more facilities and workers to help process these people's requests for asylum. IF there's a crisis it's the fact that the US government can't seem to get these people sorted out quickly enough to alleviate the bottleneck at the border. We already have plenty of ability to shoot on sight or to beat up and intimidate and we certainly have no shortage of sadistic bastards who will volunteer for such duty.

What/Who is needed: More facilities for asylum courts and judges. More temporary facilities for housing and feeding. More actual research on the root causes of this migration. Sending people whose skills are "crime fighting" is about the opposite of what would be best. The CRISIS is that we, as a nation, are so tied up in our retribution fantasies or, on the other hand, stifling our tribal instincts that we can't focus on even the simplest necessary things.

Our national shame is that we can't respond to this efficiently, shame that there are large, misguided groups within the population who support a freaking WAR on these people and that there are state's governors who abet this cauldron of hatred with partisan political stunts.

I haven’t read about any need for state security to assist the federal government in handling these numbers. This is an Abbott re-election strategy, as well as a national Republican strategy for 2022. The migrant issue is the one with Biden’s lowest poll numbers, and Republicans will do everything they can over the next several months to make the situation appear worse than it is. That’s why other Republican governors are sending support to Abbott. In reality, they will most likely just try to get in the way of federal efforts, trying to slow down the processing of migrants and gum up the works as much as possible so they can point out the failures they cause as Biden’s fault. I hope reporters are on to these tricks and document what these state pseudo border guards are actually doing.

What am I missing here? Could it be that the good Governor wants Nebraska to spill a little latino blood instead of feeding a little latino child? You call it a humanitarian crisis and seek to remedy that crisis with firepower?

(I am exercising enormous vocabulary restraint here. But it is so clear that he is sending his armed uniforms as a vigilante force to fire if and when they feel it is necessary and, of course, to help Abbott’s racists cudgel and bludgeon the people who’ve walked -- walked! -- many of them 1,000+ miles to escape threats of beatings, rape, and executions in their own countries. When it is all over, Nebraska wants to be able to look back on this troop movement and say, with great “christian” pride, of course, that "we contributed to the slaughter of men, women, and even children to help maintain white rule in America”.)

Hillary called them deplorable because the other words she wanted to use would have been censored. I stand with the Dixie Chicks, but I’ll go them one step further. They said they were ashamed of President Cheney/Bush. I’m afraid I’m ashamed of America, or at least of half of its people
