Former Murdoch exec slams Fox News over vaccine misinformation
Source: Sydney Morning Herald
Washington: One of Rupert Murdochs former top executives says Fox News has cost lives by turbo-charging hesitancy about COVID-19 vaccines among conservative Americans.
Joseph Azam, a former senior vice president at News Corp in New York, said he saw a straight line between the vaccine-sceptical rhetoric of some of Foxs most prominent hosts and entrenched resistance to vaccines in large swathes of the United States.

(12,000 posts)...and FB is a real problem, but I think fox is worse. Compared to anonymous posts on Facebook, Fox and their hosts have an additional veneer of legitimacy. It's much more than bias comfirmation (which I think is the core appeal of FB posts)... people actually trust these people. Unfortunately, I don't think the Biden administration will be willing to go after Fox the way they've been outspoken about FB.
