ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A St. Louis restaurant group announced Wednesday that they are no longer accepting indoor reservations for unvaccinated people.
Ben Poremba, chef and owner of the Bengelina Hospitality Group made the announcement on social media. The group owns and operates Nixta, Olio, Elaia, The Benevolent King and La Patisserie Chouquette restaurants.
Poremba asks guests who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 to not make an indoor reservation as outdoor dining is still available.
When asked if guests would have to show proof of being vaccinated, Ben said "No, but a question will be prompted when you make the reservations in order to complete it."

(12,533 posts)I guess they COULD ask, but its easy to print proof & no one at the door is going to look THAT closely

(38,958 posts)The folks that choose to not be truthful need only check the box on the form, that could be some, none or all of the persons in the dining room at any given moment. I dont see it doing anything to encourage anyone to get vaccinated before going to their restaurants.

(22,114 posts)answer that is true for this statement and thus, would you still go out?
We did go out finally (both are vaccinated) after a while just only a couple of weeks ago after over a year and 1/2, and it was nice to support the restaurant and the wait staff, and everyone else. Tables were far apart, workers wore masks, and overall, we felt safe. I think that this is going to be the prime driver, that is, do you feel safe when you go somewhere?
Now of course we're not going to go willy nilly on going out for meals like we did before Covid broke out, and I suspect that we're going to be shutting back down anyways before too long, being that those not still yet vaccinated are causing the state of MO to yet again, face another 'red line' in the sand, "I'm not going to get vaccinated!" as they lie dying in the hospitals, etc. The ones in the know have already told me and my SO to expect another shutdown in MO in Sept. 2021.
Our governor is worthless here in MO.
No matter what the government (republican thugs here in MO) or anyone else says, get the vaccine, mask up, be safe in distancing, don't go out on shopping trips more than perhaps once every month (yeah, I know, it's hard, but you got to cut down on number of contacts w/ others), do more online if possible, in short, do what YOU feel is safe and screw anybody else telling you otherwise. All they care about is dollars in their pocket and not you or your health, in all seriousness.

(100,068 posts)The free ride is over. You want to go out of the house and have nice things again like sporting events and concerts? Get the vaccine. If you don't? You stay home. This shit isn't funny and it's time to put the hammer down on these clowns.
