Feds: Capitol rioter from Battle Ground in Portland with guns

Source: KOIN

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Federal prosecutors want to place more restrictions on Jeffrey Grace, a Battle Ground resident who was arrested with his son for their alleged roles in the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol in Washington, after he was seen in downtown Portland this past weekend with weapons during a skirmish with opposing political groups.

Prosecutors want to ban him from possessing “any firearms, weapons, or destructive devices” while his case in the District of Columbia continues.

Grace allegedly traveled from his home in Battle Ground to Portland on August 7 as “part of a larger group” who provided “perimeter security” for a religious gathering at Waterfront Park. That event became a melee with far-right group members clashing with left-wing members.

“According to Grace, the pastor and other attendees were confronted by ‘antifa’ members,” prosecutors said in court documents filed in DC Tuesday. They cited Grace’s own YouTube channel and a KOIN.com post by Zane Sparling of the Portland Tribune.

Man charged in Capitol riot also engaged in rightwing street brawl

Violence erupted between antifascist protesters and supporters of a far-right preacher

A Washington state man who was involved in an armed brawl at a contentious protest in downtown Portland over the weekend was also charged, along with his son, over his presence during the attack on the Capitol in Washington DC on 6 January.

Jeffrey Grace’s ongoing participation in far-right street politics since January – which has included trips to the southern border – indicates that widespread charges against those involved in the Capitol attack have not deterred at least some militant pro-Trump supporters from further direct actions.

Grace, 62, of Battle Ground in south-west Washington, was captured by a photographer at the scene of the clash, which involved antifascists on one hand, and on the other armed rightwing demonstrators.

Some of thedemonstrators appeared to be members of the Proud Boys, which is designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and is banned as a terrorist group in Canada.

Found with weapons inthe presence of other Proud Boys, and leaving the state and making trips to the border?

What is the judge waiting for? Trump's reinstatement riot?

It says he's from Battle Ground, a town in Washington about 10 miles north of the WA/OR border.

The town is named Battle Ground, even though the expected battle between the Washington Volunteers and members of the Klikitat tribe never took place there.

Yeah, it's confusing - to the point that the town has this page on their website, explaining the name:

for incarceration and not granting any opportunities for bail to these seditionist scumbags! Without any significant consequences for their actions, they've been given the green light to continue their crusade of terror.

The Proud Boys have some benefactor. Or like other such groups, they have illegal enterprises.

And there's always Russia.

Give the people what they want I guess, lots of violence and plenty to hate (credit to The Kinks).
