3 Top Senate Democrats Pledge To Probe 'Flawed' Afghanistan Withdrawal

Source: HuffPost

Democrats in charge of three Senate committees are vowing to hold hearings on the bungled U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, a reflection of how little political cover the Biden administration is getting from its allies on Capitol Hill as chaos engulfs the Middle Eastern country.

Sen. Bob Mendendez (D-N.J.), the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, cast some blame on former President Donald Trump and his deal with the Taliban, which predated President Joe Biden. But he also called out the Biden administration for its “flawed” execution of a plan that didn’t adequately foresee the rapid and stunning collapse of the Afghan government.

“In implementing this flawed plan, I am disappointed that the Biden administration clearly did not accurately assess the implications of a rapid U.S. withdrawal,” Menendez said in a statement on Tuesday. “We are now witnessing the horrifying results of many years of policy and intelligence failures.”

It looks like the Biden Administration is going to face criticism from both sides of the isle.

4. Biden was going to be blamed for Afghanistan whether Trump made the decision or if he did.

Or he would have been blamed for leaving the troops in.

later as it makes it harder for the Republicans and their PR support network like Fox News to create their own distorted version.
About 99.9% of the problem though is entirely the fault of the Republicans, both the ones in the House and Senate as well as the past 2 Republican Presidents and their administrations.

Because a close investigation will reveal just how much of the chaos, etc., was ensured by the delerium-powered barging and flailing of the previous Misadministration.

before becoming VP.

You will have your war hawk (D)s out there waking up - particularly since they have been muzzled since 2014 when we lost control of the Senate. Only because people crawled over glass in Georgia to get Warnock and Ossoff in, did we get the control back so people like Menendez could take control of that committee.

The good, the bad, the ugly. Don't let it fester. Don't allow GOP to control the narrative.

Who ultimately designed the plan?

I am beginning to believe that the only people that can serve in Congress are members who have children in the military in a Combat arms career fields, in active duty.
