Real estate agent who asked Trump for a pardon pleads guilty in Capitol riot

Source: CNN

A Texas real estate agent who went viral after asking former President Donald Trump to pardon her for storming the Capitol pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor for her role in the riot.

Jenna Ryan, 51, pleaded guilty to illegally demonstrating inside the Capitol building on January 6. She agreed to pay $500 in restitution for damage done to the Capitol during the riot. Prosecutors have cut the same deal for other low-level defendants who weren't violent or destructive inside the building.

She could face a sentence of up to six months in prison, according to her agreement with prosecutors read at her plea hearing on Thursday, though it is likely Ryan will be ordered to serve much less, or even no jail time, when she is sentenced in November.

Ryan's plea comes as prosecutors ramp up efforts to resolve cases against defendants that face lesser charges, with four more defendants scheduled to plead guilty this week.

We need the optics of the traitors behind bars.

A little more than basically trespassing
for sure. $500 isn’t enough either.

... for anyone who just entered the building with the crowd without attacking police or causing any damage. Given the purpose of this riot -- using the threat of physical harm to intimidate legislators to ignore the Constitution and the will of the voters -- it certainly shouldn't be treated as simple trespassing.

some time as an object lesson for that:

"Sorry I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I'm not going to jail. Sorry to rain on your hater parade. I did nothing wrong," Ryan wrote on Twitter.

Can confirm this, but I believe I read that one of the sentencing judges complained that for a misdemeanor they could sentence someone to prison or they could sentence her to probation but they couldn't do both in one sentence. Odd.

jurisdictions defendants would be subjected to more severe penalties in a Traffic Court than these scumbags are receiving for their participation in an attempt to overthrow our government! An absolute miscarriage of justice, but actually not surprising considering the demographics of the subjects and the influence of their reich wing masters.
