SHAMELESS: Romney Campaign Doubles Down On Wildly Dishonest Ad
Source: huffingtonpost
WASHINGTON -- The Mitt Romney campaign is defending its controversial ad that misleads viewers into thinking that under President Barack Obama's watch, Chrysler is moving production of Jeeps to China.
The ad, which has sparked a torrent of complaints and fact checking, was initially caught being aired in the Toledo, Ohio, television market, though the Romney campaign had not announced it publicly. The television tracking service TVEyes shows that it is now airing in Youngstown, Ohio, as well.

(36,693 posts)Ann and Mitt lived in Belmont, Massachusetts for over thirty years. Although that home was sold in 2009, as of August 2011, the Romneys still own several homes.
Beachfront home in La Jolla, California. They want to enlarge the existing $12 million 3,009-square-foot Spanish-style home by bulldozing it and replacing it with a 11,062-square-foot mansion.
Townhouse in Belmont, Massachusetts. This is their main residence.
Vacation home valued at $10 million on Lake Winnipesaukee's shore in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

also this: In June 1965 Mitt asked Ann to marry him when she was 16 years old. They had only dated for a few months.
and: Andrew Sabl: "Ann was widely mocked for this at the time. I dont dissent from the mockery. Her idea of her and Mitt facing not easy years, having no income, living on the edge as struggling students, was that the couple had had to face college with only sale of stock to sustain them. By Anns own account, the stock amounted to a few thousand dollars when bought, but it had gone up by a factor of sixteen. So lets conservatively say that they got through five years as studentsneither one of them workingonly by chipping away at assets of $60,000 in 1969 dollars (about $377,000 today)."

This ad does not fit "within the boundaries of truth", not even technically.
LIE: something that misleads or deceives (Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionay, 10th edition).
FALSE: adjusted or made so as to deceive. Lacking naturalness or sincerity (Same source)
In other words if the intent is to decieve then it is false and a lie and lies outside "the boundries of truth".

(12,882 posts)has someone been watching FOX to see if they're parroting this line of bull? If FOX is "hands off" about it, that would make it radioactively phony! After all, Obama's auto industry sending jobs to China - you'd think FOX would be ALL OVER that kinda news.

(1,408 posts)No, I cursed loudly at the tv. My cat took off and didn't come back for several minutes.
I've had some teabagger relatives tell me that President Obama is showing his true colors and paying back China by having Chrysler move the Jeep production to China.
Even though I have shown them proof that is not happening, they still believe it.
But then a few still believe that he is a 'muslin' and one says Hawaii wasn't a state when President Obama was born.
And they sure don't tolerate people that disagree with them.
For being christians they sure are foul mouthed when someone disagrees with them.
Jeep going to China is like Ohio only got 400 or 1800 jobs, according to Gov. Kashits, depending which speech you listened to, from the auto bailout.
Some of those self same relatives are still working because of the bailout and they still think that President Obama is trying to wreck the country. Oddly enough though, they are happy to cash their paychecks.
They weren't so vocal or in-your-face about their racism until Obama was nominated for president. They said that America
wouldn't elect a "black man" for president. (They didn't say black man) Talk about them going off the deep end in Nov. 2008!
One last thing.
Thank goodness for DU. I've been a long time lurker. Don't know why I waited so long sign up and don't know how much I will post but Du has been a great place for info and sanity when the gop, wingnuts, and the rest of the right wing insanity tries to convince the world that their lies are the truth.
