Chris Wallace announces he is leaving Fox News, joining CNN+
Source: CNN
CNN Business (CNN) Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, one of the few high-profile news personalities who retained a reputation of integrity as the channel he worked for leaned hard into right-wing and conspiratorial programming, announced Sunday that he is departing the network and joining CNN+ to host a weekday show.
Wallace made the stunning announcement of his departure from Fox News at the end of "Fox News Sunday," the channel's flagship weekly program that he has moderated since 2003.
"After 18 years this is my final 'Fox News Sunday.' It is the last time, and I say this with real sadness, we will meet like this," Wallace said.
Shortly after his announcement, CNN announced that Wallace will join CNN+, the news organization's streaming product launching in early 2022, to host a show featuring interviews with newsmakers "across politics, business, sports and culture."

Wallace's resignation has already been posted, but this is about him joining CNN+.

He said he wasn't any good anyway. I said he must have
got tired of telling lies. I hope he doesn't bring any Fox bullshit with him.

(6,890 posts)(not always, but enough to get noticed for it) and even ask awkward questions of egregious liars. So no wonder your neighbor said he wasn't any good.
He'll never be his father, but he's too good for Fox.

(47,487 posts)We pay enough for Comcast cable and are not going to subscribe to all these extras including Netflix Hulu and others. As it is, TCM that used to be basic cable now charge extra $10.00 (er, $9.99).
We prefer books, anyway.

(38,958 posts)I am fed up with the endless new streaming services that add more and more to the budget. Not a fan of cable noise anyway so this is an easy decision.

It ends up becoming their own "a la cart", pay-only-for-what-they-watch thing that the cable providers don't really have.

(42,770 posts)We pay for HBO and we're watching a series and saw the first three episodes. And then just to see the next two we had to pay extra. That's a new con too

(47,487 posts)As you say HBO is already a Premium channel so why do this trick?
I think it is worth it to go to their Facebook if you are on Facebook and express your opinion.

(4,544 posts)and subscribe to HBOMax, the streaming service, instead. It might even be cheaper that way (it was for me) and you'd have everything they offer, which is considerably more than what's on a cable subscription, plus better video and audio if those things matter to you.
We "cut the cord" a few months ago, and I do not regret it. We are saving about $150/mo. and we have more choices plus better video and audio. It was a win-win for us!

(18,636 posts)Maybe Mike Wallace is still around, I'm not going to look it up, but if Chris was my son I'd tell people he plays piano in a whore house.
That's not too far off of what he's been doing all these years, if you think about it.

(9,959 posts)... he has the stench of FOX, still. I think he's late in leaving... I've criticized him a lot, because he elevates FOX and that's part of his job. He must know that was part of his job/paycheck. I would have left during the last contract renewal. It sounds like CNN+ is something to pay for... like Disney+ to see The Beatles. I'm not paying any "+". I have hundreds of TV stations for them to put stuff on... I can't afford to start paying for each new show...

(1,735 posts)Just because he wasn't as batshit crazy as the rest of FOX hosts isn't much of a resume.

(6,617 posts)And since he's on a pay service, I won't see him anyway. Now fux can replace him with a batshit crazy to even out their fair and balanced reporting lol

(382 posts)If CNN+ is separate and not bundled with another service, it might be a mistake.
One can get NBC News programming with Peacock or ABC News programming with Hulu.

It probably won't be many because I don't see them as being streaming services type people. But it might be some.
In addition, I'm far less dogmatic about him in general. He is absolutely the only one I know of on that side who at least tries to ask some tough questions.
