Half in new poll say it should be illegal to deny service, employment to unvaccinated

Source: The Hill

Half of Americans believe it should be illegal for companies to deny service or employment to those who are unvaccinated, according to a new Axios-Ipsos poll.

Overall, the poll shows that 51 percent of those surveyed believe it should be illegal to deny service or employment, a view held by 55 percent of Republicans and 46 percent of Democrats.

The most significant factor in where people stood on the issue was education, as opposed to race, gender or party affiliation, noted Axios.

While 58 percent of people with a high school degree or less agreed that it should be illegal to deny service to the unvaccinated, 44 percent of people with a bachelor's degree or higher said the same.

If I ran a business, there's no way in hell I would want unvaccinated people coming into my establishment, putting my employees and customers at risk of COVID. Nope, no way, no how. GTFO!

Those who are unvaccinated (without a VALID medical excuse) are NOT a protected class of people. That is a conscious choice, not something that can't be helped, like skin color, sex, sexual orientation, etc. If you choose to deny science because you've "done the research", gotten your "Google MD", and think that the rest of us are the sheep, then you can go straight to hell...

We are getting our asses handed to us in the propaganda department.

I am sorry but when they go low, we don't go high...we get the legs cut out from under us and the stupidity brigade marches on to victory.

Take off the gloves and start calling these people what they are - BIOLOGICAL TERRORISTS, PERIOD.

No vaccine and STILL wanting to have the full rights and privileges of social contract? Uh, no. You have been denied and must comply with safety protocols or stay the fuck away from crowded places.

I guarnan-fucking-tee that if COVID was only a disease affecting a minority, this would be 180-degrees the opposite for them. If ONLY people of color were infected, if it were a virulent form of sickle-cell anemia, and there was a vaccine to prevent spread into other genetic populations, you bet your sweet ass the GOP would be rounding people up and putting them in camps if they refused the vaccination.

Time to do likewise.

IF they try to illegally enter, then they are subject to arrest or detainment.

The fact we are NOT forcing them to get the shot is the point...that remains their CHOICE...but its time for consequences to follow choices. I am through wishing these people (intentionally non-vaccinated) would wake up. Fuck them all.

the questions are phrased can skew the result in favor of 'controversy,' which is good for ratings...

I fully support vaccine mandates, and employers firing people who refuse. Why? Well, I don't want to catch COVID from some numbskull at the office, or even risk it if I don't have to.

Secondly, for employers, making it illegal will expose them to litigation risk from people who have been vaccinated, do wear masks, and STILL caught COVID from some selfish nut-job at the office because the employer was too wishy-washy to create a definite policy around that.

Anti-vaxxers are NOT a protected population, and so in a sane appellate court system (which we no longer have), any lawsuit against a vaccine mandate should not have standing.

It's established that private businesses can serve, or deny to serve, anyone they want.

Conservatives fought tooth and nail for that, and now they don't like that it's happening with the vaccines"

I don’t like yes or no questions when there can be other explanations. I think, if I was honest, I’d have to opposed denying service or employment to unvaccinated people. Denying service is tricky (and could be seen as racist in some cases) and denying employment can hurt populations. We are desperately trying to get employees to drive busses and work with the handicapped. If my son’s program for adult disabled were to require employees to be fully vaccinated, it would have to close. Having said that, my entire family is fully vaccinated and wear masks everywhere.

to "rescue" the unvaxxed for prevention of possible deadly infectious disease while they sleep or relax with a jab the same way we've been encouraged to carry around some naxalone to revive the opiod addicted, then get them into rehab care?

Maybe they've lost IQ points from the flouride in their unfiltered tap water (except rural folks are more likely to have well water or sip the bottled stuff).
https://fluoridefree.org.nz/formula-fed-babies-in-fluoridated-towns-suffer-7-iq-loss/

Employers already terminate or discriminate against those who smoke or vape both legal products and illegal substances, even on their own time, and those folks also pay more in insurance premiums, but that's somehow different than going unvaxxed?

72% agree on mandates overall for everything and over 80% for travelling, medical, teachers etc. It has made it much easier to have 77% of the population fully vaccinated and 82% with at least one dose. We have our loud and obnoxious antivaxxers but they are ignored or scorned by the majority and we hear less and less from them.

They are too stupid to know they are just tools of the corporatists to kill our democracy and turn us into a full on nazi nation where the rich are accountable for nothing but get everything given to them and the poor work for pennies and die young with no healthcare, no rights and no protections.

This is why OSHA should make vaccination mandatory: so people get used to it as a pre-condition for employment.

If your fellow workers are carrying diseases into the workplace, that's not a safe work environment.

No, OSHA very recently made getting the COVID vaccination mandatory.

They didn't, decades ago, make getting the measles vaccine, the mumps vaccine, the chickenpox vaccine, the polio vaccine, the smallpox vaccine, and all the rest mandatory.

And they still haven't made getting the rest of those vaccinations mandatory.

If they made vaccination mandatory as a precondition for being employed, you wouldn't have this level of pushback over people getting a new vaccination.
