UPDATED: January 3, 2022 at 5:42 p.m.

Orange County Deputy District Attorney Kelly Ernby, who ran for state Assembly in 2020 and had become a leader with the Republican Party of Orange County, has died suddenly, a week after telling friends she was very sick with COVID-19. She was 46 years old.

“I lost a dear friend to Covid complications,” Ben Chapman, chair of the Greater Costa Mesa Republicans, tweeted Monday. “You’ve been nothing but an inspiration to many of us here in Orange County.”

Condolences were pouring in online Monday for Ernby, who was a Huntington Beach resident and presumed 2022 candidate for Assembly.

Before joining the DA’s office, she worked for a private Orange County firm handling civil business litigation for nine years.

“It was an absolute privilege to fight the good fight alongside Kelly,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer posted to social media Monday. “Her passion and her shining light will be forever missed.”.....................................

................She commented most frequently on Twitter over the past year about her opposition to mandates for COVID-19 vaccines. During a Dec. 4 rally against vaccine mandates at Irvine City Hall, Cal State Fullerton’s Daily Titan reports Ernby drew parallels between the 1960s and today, saying in both eras people faced losing freedoms to what she termed socialist ideals.

“There’s nothing that matters more than our freedoms right now,” she said, according to the Daily Titan...........................................................

It's not a thread per se, but there's a subreddit called HermanCainAward which revolves around antivaxxers getting covid (usually dying from it) after they publicly declare they won't get vaccinated.

The 60's were mostly remarkable because it became the age of blatant discrimination against straight leg pants and jeans. Look it up, if you don't believe me. "The shunning was unbearable", says one broken spirited victim in button fly Levis. "...a scourge against decency", lamented another. But the victimization didn't stop there. One sailor remarked, "I got laid way more often than I deserved. I found out later it was the pants. The horror, the horror."

It isn't clear to me that she wasn't vaccinated, just that she was against mandates--but it's hard to imagine she was vaccinated and died anyway, at 46.

So I'm sure she felt there was no need to bother getting vaccinated.

These articles about someone dying from Covid, tend to go out of the way to mention when someone is vaccinated, yet died anyways. The fact there is Zero mention of it, tells me all I need to know. The fact she was anti-mandate only provides further confirmation.

Republicans are dying at a rate of about 3 times that democrats are dying.

If they had only vaxxed, the majority would still be alive. You are FAR more likely to die if you are unvaxxed.

Ok, that was uncalled for. At least I'd like to see hospital workers protected from these lunatics. Turn them away at the door if they're unvaccinated.

Sorry, to be abrupt and harsh, but really, who lost freedoms in the 60s and who gained? I don't think whites lost any but non-whites sure gained.

To hell with people then and now who wanted to trample on voting rights and civil rights.

How did I know she was white as I wrote that and before I checked her photo?

Other than not get a vaccine that any sane person would grab in a minute, what do they want? The '60s were socialist ideals? The space race and Vietnam were socialist?

Methinks she refers to racism. It's desegregation and Medicaid and equall rights that bothered her.

Will these moroons ever learn? Anything? Their thinking is so simplistic and juvenile.
