(CNN)..Throughout the bitter winter, during rain and snow, Jon Vaughn has alternated between sleeping in a tent or a campervan outside former University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel's house.

A former University of Michigan and NFL football player, Vaughn is one of more than 1,000 people --- mostly men -- who says they were abused by athletics doctor Robert Anderson, who worked for the university from 1966 to 2003 treating students across sports including football, track, and wrestling.

rest at link above...Warning:........ HORRIFIC STORY OF SEXUAL ABUSE..!!!!!

It is my opinion, that the University of Michigan deliberately covered this up. Imagine if you can, that leaders of a well known university do not know about this much abuse.
By late 1990s, (my opinion) or sooner, those individuals who were in charge, could have known, (or must have known) and ...did nothing.

....But this will come out in time. That some people who went to leaders were rebuffed.
Remember: the guy stopped working at the University in 2003.. Long time ago. The people who
deliberately covered this up, could be long gone. Some are still around, but getting them to admit that they covered this up, on purpose, will be difficult or impossible.

Fired University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel could be in an university classroom next fall, according to letters obtained by the Free Press.

It's part of a plan that would see him becoming a part of the university's faculty. The offer is outlined in letters sent to Schlissel onThursday from the leaders of U-M's medical school and the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. It's unknown whether Schlissel has accepted the terms.

Schlissel was fired as president earlier this month after a Board of Regents investigation into a violation of the school's new supervisor relationship policy. The investigation into Schlissel is continuing, including looking at whether he misused university funds in support of his relationship with an employee.

I read that long-ass article and they never really got around to saying specifically how they are defining sexual abuse and what exactly happened to those "more than 1,000 students".

So many phrases tossed around....

sexual abuse
sexual assault
sexual misconduct
sexual harassment
sexual molestation
sexual violence
contact sexual violence

"invasive exams"
"unnecessary genital and rectal examinations"

Has any university ever offered a reason why university doctors might conduct "invasive exams" or "genital and rectal exams"? I can imagine a medical utility for such things, best performed by a doctor. Did those exams serve only the prurient interest of the university doctor? Or could they serve some other purpose? Did the doc stimulate the genitals to erection and/or orgasm? Did the doc ever perform fellatio on any of these men?

Further down, the article says:

Nearly 1 in 5 (19.4%) non-Hispanic Black men have experienced contact sexual violence -- which includes rape, being made to penetrate someone else, sexual coercion, and unwanted sexual contact -- in their lifetime, according to the CDC's National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey 2010-2012, which is the latest published data broken out by race or ethnicity.

"being made to penetrate someone else" ... this is a phrase that apparently includes the victim "receiving oral sex". As in, penetrating the mouth of someone else, unwillingly.

This last snip seems to have little to do with the original story, as apparently the university is not being accused of looking the other way for this type of "sexual violence". But the terms are thrown all over, it's hard to know what exactly was going on. Perhaps related to our (continuing) unwillingness to discuss things sexual.
