The Washington Post reported that Johnson attended the meeting virtually, while Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-North Dakota, and Sen.Cynthia M. Lummis, R-Wyoming, were in a crowded conference room with others at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The Post reported: "What the senators heard from a handful of presenters were some of the most fantastical claims among those alleging that the election had been stolen including, according to Cramer, that the 2020 vote had been influenced by foreign powers and that proper investigation required gaining access to voting machines around the country."

On Dec. 16, 2020, Johnson, then head of the U.S. Senate's homeland security committee, held a hearing on the election.
"The senators hearing was part of what should be ongoing congressional oversight meant to transparently address that problem," a Johnson spokesperson said. "Following the hearing, he and his staff continued to gather information and consider allegations, that is why he joined the meeting.

...............Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson, a Democratic candidate running for U.S. Senate, issued a renewed call for Johnson to be subpoenaed by the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Or if they just don't care that none of it is true. They do know Trumpers will believe anything Trump spews put, but does Ron Johnson actually believe? I think most of those in these meetings were cynics who were just okay with making it up.

(9,988 posts)Multiple recounts had been made in the swing states, the final counts had been certified in those states, and numerous court cases had been lost for lack of credible evidence of election fraud. Therefore, anyone participating in these meetings, whatever their reason, knew that Trump was planning an insurrection to install himself as the president. If they were not part of his insurrection team, they had a duty to report the plans. None of them did. They may not have know how violent January 6 would be, but they certainly knew that insurrection is a crime.

(6,186 posts)IMO he has been at the center of the Scott Walker disruption of Wisconsin. Starting with destroying the teacher's unions and their ability to negotiate for fair benefits.
IMO he was up to his neck in Trump's plans to win the 2020 election no matter what laws were broken no matter who he needed to align himself with including foreign historical enemies of the United States.
IMO he belongs in federal prison for his treasonous behavior.
