(CNN)Anne Heche, who remains hospitalized after crashing her vehicle into a Los Angeles residence last week, is "not expected to survive," according to a statement from her family and friends shared with CNN by a representative.

"Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive," the statement read. "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable."

for her than for the woman who was injured and lost her house and all her posessions when Ms. Heche slammed into it at a 'high rate of speed' after running a stop sign and with drugs in her system.

I wish there was as much concern for her victim.

But famous, and beautiful people get a different level of privilege.

People on these threads would be saying that 'only a sociopath could care so little about endangering the lives of others". And probably even worse.

she's good-looking, famous, and liberal so we have sympathy for someone who damn near killed other people. If she'd been some schlub with a Trump sticker and almost killed Anne Heche people here would be thinking very differently about the same actions. Meanwhile you search all of DU and not find the name of the person she almost wiped out and burned down the house of.

Different standards for celebs, at least the ones we like.
