Car bomb kills daughter of 'spiritual guide' to Putin's Ukraine invasion - Russian media

(CNN) Russian authorities said Sunday they had opened a murder investigation after the daughter of influential, ultra-nationalist philosopher Alexander Dugin was killed by a car bomb on the outskirts of Moscow. The Russian Investigative Committee said it believed someone planned and ordered the car explosion that killed Darya Dugina, based on evidence already collected from the blast.

"Taking into account the data already obtained, the investigation believes that the crime was pre-planned and was of an ordered nature," the investigative committee said in a statement Sunday. Dugina died at the scene after "an explosive device, presumably installed in the Toyota Land Cruiser, went off on a public road and the car caught fire" at around 9.00 p.m. local time on Saturday, near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy, according to the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee, as reported by the Russian state news agency TASS.

Dugina's father is a Russian author and ideologue, credited with being the architect or "spiritual guide" to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He is purported to have significant influence over Russian President Vladimir Putin and was described as "Putin's Brain" by Foreign Affairs magazine. Both Dugin and his daughter have been sanctioned by the United States. The United Kingdom sanctioned Dugina in July for being "a frequent and high-profile contributor of disinformation in relation to Ukraine and the Russian invasion of Ukraine on various online platform," it wrote.

Videos of the explosion showed a vehicle on fire at the side of the road and smashed car parts strewn across the surrounding area. One unverified video appears to show Dugin at the scene. A friend of Dugina told TASS that he believed Dugina's father was the true target of the blast -- or possibly both of them -- as the car belonged to Alexander.

(CNN) The daughter of influential Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin was killed when an explosive device, thought to be installed in the car she was traveling in, exploded near Moscow, Russian investigators said Sunday according to state news agency TASS.

Investigators have opened a criminal case into the murder of Darya Dugina, saying at around 9.00 p.m. local time on Saturday, near the village of "Bolshiye Vyazemy, an explosive device, presumably installed in the Toyota Land Cruiser, went off on a public road and the car caught fire," the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee said according to TASS.

"The female driver died at the scene. We established the identity of the deceased: it is journalist and political analyst Daria Dugina," it added in a post on Telegram. Andrei Krasnov, head of the Russky Gorizont (Russian Horizon) social movement and a personal acquaintance of the woman's family, told TASS on Sunday that Dugina was killed when her car caught fire following an explosion.

Krasnov said he knew Dugina personally and that the car she was traveling in belonged to her father. He believed Alexander was the true target of the blast, or possibly both of them, Tass reported. "It's her father's car," Krasnov told TASS. "Dasha (Darya) drives another car, but she drove his car today, and Alexander went separately."

riled up towards Ukraine, to shore up public opinion for the war, and it's kind of curious why he switched cars at the last minute to ride in another car that wasn't his, seems kind of suspicious.

I found a very in-depth interview with her on a publicly accessible site. But fearful of passing on the link. Its basically a run down of their worldview and her take on it. I did a search on "Who is Daria Dugina".

She wasn't just his daughter, she was his clone from a geopolitical philosophy strategy focus.

This action is by the opposition party. They are attacking the thought leaders of the ruling party. If it was the Ukraine (no idea of the odds on that one) chances are they had inside assistance.

This is starting to be both scary as a living hell (a few spare thermonuclear weapon systems, my friend, and you too can take over whatever you want, eh?) and also absolutely fascinating. The Russians are on a road to revolt, and in a manner of speaking so is the United States with the violence being displayed in a manner according to each sides cultures.

In a Star Trek "Star Wars context", in the mirror universe, they just killed Luke because he's always been on the dark side. As if the goatee wasn't a dead giveaway...

Wonder if that analogy will ever catchon?

and acted as a megaphone for his fucked up ideas, genocide wrapped in religion and all tied up with an imperial ribbon.

Expect more news like this to seep out. She was high profile enough they couldn't just disappear her, although it's just as likely she was blotto and drove off a cliff as she was to get car bombed. The timing also seems a bit strange, most amateur level car bombs go off when the ignition key is turned, it's an easy wiring job. If she was blown up, I suspect it was an IED in the road rather than a car bomb.

In any case, I'm sure her daddy and uncle Vlad are sad today.

Her father was supposedly the brain child for the reason for the fascist take over of the Ukraine. Which gave cover for Putin to attack. In a fascist totalitarian Russia which Putin and Dugin both advocated for, Ukraine is supposed to be merely an administrative state to Russia. To serve as a shield to Russia in case the EU attacks by ground.

So, your average Russian drives a Toyota Land Cruiser?

Now you know how Ukrainians feel when they lose family from Russian military, Dugin.

24. Aleksandr Dugin Calls for Russia to Punish Ukraine for Daria Dugina's Death
Mon Aug 22, 2022, 12:15 PM
Aug 2022

The outspoken Russian ultranationalist Aleksandr Dugin called on Monday for revenge against Ukraine and for Russia to push on in its invasion, in his first comments since a car bombing killed his daughter.

The Russian authorities on Monday blamed Ukraine for organizing the killing of his daughter, Daria Dugina, on Saturday on a highway in an affluent district outside of Moscow.

Mr. Dugin, who Russian media reports said was driving in a separate car behind his daughter when the blast went off, said she had been “brutally killed by an explosion in front of my eyes.”

He said the attack was an “act of terror” that had been “carried out by the Nazi Ukrainian regime,” repeating the Kremlin’s false description of Ukraine as a Nazi state.

So you sacrificed your own daughter in hopes of rallying Russia to your imperialist cause.
