President Putin deeply mourns the deaths of people, children at a school where there was a terrorist attack by a person, who apparently belongs to a neo-fascist group, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters during a phone call. The president wishes for the recovery of those injured as a result of this inhuman terrorist attack.

(2,030 posts)Either way, that's probably how they'll spin it, that it was a Ukrainian Nazi who did it.
And either way, a tragedy. Likely inspired by American school shootings.

MOSCOW, Sept 26 (Reuters) - A gunman with a swastika on his teeshirt killed 13 people, including seven children, and wounded more than 20 at a school in Russia on Monday before committing suicide, investigators said.
Russia's Investigative Committee, which handles major crimes, said it was looking into the attacker's suspected neo-Nazi links. It named him as Artem Kazantsev, a man in his early thirties, and said he was a graduate of the school.
"Currently investigators ... are conducting a search of his residence and studying the personality of the attacker, his views and surrounding milieu," the committee said in a statement. "Checks are being made into his adherence to neo-fascist views and Nazi ideology."
Investigators released a short video showing the man's body lying on the floor of a classroom with overturned furniture and papers strewn on the bloodstained floor. He was dressed all in black, with a red swastika in a circle drawn on his teeshirt.

(30 posts)The only reason I don't remember seeing any gun stores in Moscow is because the various mafias control sections of towns and didn't want threats against them. If you just got done shaking down the local bar for 40% of its earnings in a month, you probably don't want a gun store across the street. But you can get anything in Russia for a price. It's estimated that almost 50 percent of Russians buy their driver's license and don't pass their test. This would account for all those Russian Car Crash Compilations online.

(66,369 posts)Armorers probably selling AK-series rifles by the hundreds on the streets and pocketing the cash. U.S. Army armorers rarely do that, and anyway any citizen in this country can get his hands on military weaponry by walking into a store.
