Legendary journalist Barbara Walters has passed away at 93

MIAMI - Long-time ABC News journalist Barbara Walters has passed away, according to the network.
She was 93.
Walters was best known for her interviewing ability as host of popular shows such as Today, The View, 20/20, and ABC Evening News.
Walters began her career on The Today Show in the early 1960s.

(9,535 posts)She broke the glass ceiling for so many women in journalism, but also set the standards for male journalists as well with her superior interview skills. She had knack for asking pointed questions and getting answers that others wouldn't have done.

Walters was a pioneer, but she was 93 years old. Her death can't have been entirely unexpected.

(9,373 posts)I read the obit and how Frank McGee of NBC and Harry Reasoner of ABC both hated her. She never got respect from either man. And it still goes on today. Look at the crap that Maggie Haberman gets not only here but also on Twitter. Pretty disturbing that men who would report just like she does would be praised but she is not.
