North Korea facing worst food shortage since '90s famine, report says

Source: United Press International

North Korea is undergoing the worst period of food insecurity it has faced since a mass famine devastated the country almost 30 years ago, reports the U.S.-based monitoring website 38 North.

Expect more missile tests, defections to South Korea and China, mothers eating less food to feed their children, and another generation of shorter, thinner North Koreans in the future.

If or when North Korea collapses it's going to be a humanitarian catastrophe.

What will we do with the refugees? They'll be hungry and clueless and largely unemployable at first.

It's more than a China or South Korea or Russia problem. Just because we're beyond range of most starving boat people doesn't make it any less our problem.

China could squash him and his military forces like a bug if they truly wanted to.

Of course doing so would cause destruction in South Korea and Japan, also.

They hate democracy because people are impatient and not willing to suffer.

In an autocracy the people are made to be patient and put up with horrendous conditions.
Which allows the autocracies to put forth their agendas.

In the case of NK, the people can starve to death to allow the build up of their military.

Autocratic leaders think this is what makes them strong.
They can do anything and no one can stop them.

That is why the US GOP wants an autocratic form of government.

It is a crime against humanity.

I am old and will not live to see these new, so-called Republicans deliver the bottom 99% in U.S. to the same conditions here in the U.S.

We are a mere millimeter away, from the: "Corporate Fascist Tyranny" they want to install........

I can't understand why the 70+ Million Trump humping voters don't or won't even begin to see this.............

They just assume the horrendous conditions won't happen to them.
It is all the other groups who will suffer.
Women, POC, LGBT, Dems, etc.

They believe they will be immune from the hardships.

Yes hopefully we will be gone if/when voters finally vote out democracy.
And the GOP autocracy is installed. Like DeSantis is doing in Florida.

For a country that has 53 million Americans having to use food banks in a time we’re supposed to be the richest, 1st rate country in the world. Creepy Kim is what the Trumpinistas want us to be. They, as the ruling class have enough and everyone else needs to provide it as human chattel.
