Pence would ban abortion in cases where pregnancy isn't viable

Source: ABC

Former Vice President Mike Pence is making clear that his opposition to abortion extends beyond some of his most conservative 2024 White House rivals.

He told the Associated Press in an interview that he supports banning abortions in cases where the pregnancy isn't viable and the baby wouldn't survive outside the womb, as in the case of extreme fetal abnormalities.

I can't explicitly post what he and others of his ilk need to have happen to them in order to fully experience a pregnancy gone wrong. But suffice it to say, every one of them would be begging and crying for it to stop after a very, very short amount of time. He and others of his ilk should be the ones billed and responsible for payment.

Pure delusion, just like all those right-wing claims that many women wait until the third trimester to have an abortion because they change their minds or that doctors deliver healthy babies and kill them because the mothers don’t want them. What a load of BS. Pence is going nowhere in the polls.

They were expecting a much-wanted child, but something went wrong and the fetus was no longer viable. His wife got sicker and sicker and almost died because this was considered an abortion so no medical facility or physician would treat her. At the last minute they found someone who knew someone who was willing to perform the procedure and his wife survived. This is what Pence supports for women in this country, near-death or possibly death if they are carrying a non-viable fetus.

The senator went public with their experience to explain why he is pro-choice.

What a shameless hypocrite!

Let's not forget that the repeal of ACA failed in the Senate in 2017 by a vote of 49-51.

If just one Senator had voted the other way, Pence would have voted for the repeal.

Pro-Life is a misnomer.

They seem to think that women will cower and succumb under their thumbs. Get back in the kitchen. Become broodmares. And they seem to think that will be OK with women.

They couldn't be more wrong.

But by all means, keep loudly proclaiming how anti-woman you are. Let's ensure Democrats win everywhere.

They thought women would forget about being shoved back to breeder status.

Again, they couldn't be more wrong. Poll after poll shows that women are just as fired up as when Dobbs was decided. Abortion - women's bodily autonomy - in an election issue and in some cases, it's the #1 election issue.

We will not forget.

Always kill the mom, always let the women pay (even with their lives) for the sin of having sex with men who are not punished one little bit. If they really cared about life, both parties would be punished, but no, that's not what's happening. They hate women and punish us and the babies as well by not providing nothing once the babe is born and making the baby suffer so they can torture the mother longer. It's beyond belief what these fucking men are trying to do to the women of this country.

At 8 months pregnant, my mom's first baby was dying/dead. Mom was in Ok, and this was in 1940. They didn't make her wait until it was confirmed the baby couldn't be rescued, they immediataely gave her an abortion to save her life. She almost died with dad driving the 3 hours to the nearest hospital. Nowdays, she probably would die. My family has a bad history on both sides of bad miscarriages, so I am really fearful about what will happen if my daughter decides to try and have children.

This womman's rights issue is very personal to me!!!

I have 2 friends who found out about 22 weeks into very wanted pregnancies that their babies had severe anomalies inconsistent with life. They were both devastated, but terminated the pregnancies.
One already had a daughter. She was not able to conceive again after the lost pregnancy.
The other had suffered multiple miscarriages before getting much further along when she found out the pregnancy was doomed.
She was subsequently able to have her son, who just graduated from high school.
I cannot even begin to fathom the level of callous inhumanity that would have forced them to carry doomed pregnancies for another 4 months.
You are not G-d Mike Pence. And you will never be president. In the meantime just shut the f**k up.

I dare a physician to stand up at a microphone at the next Republican rally with one of theses asses spewing this crap.

The MD should simply “do you realize the mother will become septic and die?”.

I'm too familiar with his shenanigans as Governor of Indiana to expect znything but the absolute worst from him when it comes to reproductive rights.

For those who don't know, he signed every anti-abortion bill that crossed his desk, including one that was so extreme that even some anti-choice Republicans opposed it. Among other things, the bill imposed a requirement that clinics cremate or bury the tissue from abortions or miscarriages rather than using the standard method of incineration for human medical waste.(In other words, the law required all tissue removed from the body during an abortion to be treated exactly the same way the remains of a deceased person would be treated.)

The bill has been through a series of courtroom challenges, and I'm not sure what it's status is at this time. The point is, he very cheerfully signed a very extreme anti-abortion bill as Governor of Indiana, which means that this latest claptrap is right in character for him.
