The judge hates Trump and a D.C. jury would convict him of anything, he whines.
By Susie Madrak August 3, 2023
Any conviction of Trump in D.C. is "not legitimate," intones a hypervenilating Lindsey Graham. "They're charging him with the crime of taking bad legal advice. That's what this is about, they're trying to criminalize the attorney-client relationship. They're trying to criminalize exercising of the First Amendment."
He says Trump could be convicted of kidnapping the Lindbergh baby in D.C.

One of the fews times that he has ever sounded sincere was when he decried Trump right after the Insurrection. And we know how long that lasted.

So, while his judge will literally pick the peanuts from his you-know-what and eat it, the other judges are just impartial judges...as you've said nothing adverse about any of them to date. Coincidence?

(5,267 posts)We can change the classified docs case to Eastern Virginia, since the CIA is located close by and many of those documents were likely authored by the Intel community.
As some here may know, the US District Court in Eastern Virginia is also known as the "Rocket Docket."
That said, the Insurrectionist has a snowball's chance of hell of getting his case move out of Washington DC, no matter how much pressure Linseed tries to apply to the DOJ.

Maybe North Carolina will but I highly doubt South Carolina. They really are two very different states in some ways.

I lived in South Carolina from 1993-2011. It is not North Carolina. Strom Thurmond is glorified there (there was a Strom Thurmond centre at Clemson University), every major highway and bridge in my area was named after a confederate figure from the civil war, they are proud of firing the shot that started the civil war. In 2008 the McCain-Palin signs were prolific, with nary an Obama-Biden sign to be seen.
I served on a jury in a drug case in which the prosecutor did almost nothing to prove the guilt of the defendant. They were counting on the jury to just rubber stamp a conviction for a Black defendant, so the prosecutor barely bothered to present a case. He would probably have gotten away with that, too, except for the lone Black woman on the jury (yes, me). Fully half of the jurors were more than willing to ignore things like the star witness contradicting herself and the arresting officer giving sketchy testimony. It ended with a hung jury.
About jury duty, I called my congressman to express my opinion about something and suddenly I was chosen for lots of jury duty. In addition to the one state criminal trial, I had to serve on local juries twice a year. They even tapped me for a grand jury, but that was right before we moved so I wasnt required to serve. Im 66 years old and have never been called for jury duty before or since. It was clearly retribution, but it didnt stop me from giving Jim DeMint a piece of my mind from time to time.
Its not Alabama or Mississippi, but neither is it North Carolina. Itll be one of the last places to go blue, if it ever does.
Edited to correct spellcheck which doesnt recognize the name Strom. Wish none of us did

(2,566 posts)If only he could blow out his birthday candles and this time wish that Lindsey Graham could not lie for a day.
I think we would discover how much Lindsey secretly DESPISES Trump and how he has been resisting the urge to drown Trump in a pond at one of Trump's golf resorts for years, and how he is just play-acting his loyalty to Hair Führer to suck up to Trump's rabid base and thereby get reelected.

But this isn't about politics. It's about CRIMINAL court for CRIMINALS.
