Just weeks into the new school year, districts in multiple states are canceling in-person classes for several weeks due to respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, among students and staff.

Two school districts in Kentucky -- Lee County School District and Magoffin County Schools -- said they were closing due to "widespread illness."

LCD canceled classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and switched to virtual classes on Thursday and Friday.

all together in one building. I never stopped masking, so I had one on, but most people didn’t. Wouldn’t be surprised to hear about people getting sick. Quite a few of our youngest staff members wore masks, which I thought was impressive.

If you go to their individual states they show no new cases. NONE! But if you look at the graphs for each state you can see there are many new cases. There is a cover-up by the red states, again, still.

Meanwhile, the states of New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Massachusetts, etc are listed with current cases.

So the days they don't update have blanks.

"Cases" is a fairly meaningless number. First year there were reported incidents of car crash victims whose cause of death was COVID--ignore the high-speed impact and blunt-force trauma. Still true today--there's a fine line between hospitalization with and hospitalization because of COVID. The data are unclear as a consequence and there's no way to separate the two groups retroactively and scant concern to clarify the data on-going.

This was cleaned up after a while for deaths, in most jurisdictions. Deaths from COVID may be a lagging indicator but it's far more reliable.

As for a cover up, if the data were suppressed you wouldn't see it on the graph. I don't know why, but the last date on the graph (as of when I'm writing this) is 8/19/2023. It's currently late CDST on 8/25/2023.

I lost the month of August and recovery took another couple of months. The young will bounce back while I have to sort of slowly drag myself back, but it was miserable, whatever it was. Not Covid, just nasty.

We wear out really quickly so it's hard to get anything done. Plus, we both still have the nasty cough. Good thing we're both retired.

He tested positive, I didn't, but our PA said we both likely had it. His entire gaming group had it. They usually play twice a week - they might have their first game in nearly a month tomorrow.
