Abortion rights supporters far outraise opponents and rake in out-of-state money in Ohio election

Supporters of a ballot measure that would enshrine abortion rights in the Ohio Constitution far outraised their anti-abortion opponents in the months leading up to the November election, bringing in nearly $29 million from donors since Sept. 8, the campaign’s latest filings show.

The effort against Issue 1, which would amend the constitution to protect abortion rights, raised just under $10 million in the same period, according to Thursday’s filings.

The largest donations backing the amendment since Sept. 8 came from out-of-state groups, including three gifts totaling $5.3 million from the progressive Sixteen Thirty Fund, based in Washington, D.C. The Sixteen Thirty Fund counts among its funders Hansjörg Wyss, a Swiss billionaire who has given the group more than $200 million since 2016.

The campaign, known as Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights, also received $3.5 million from the New York-based Open Society Policy Center, a lobbying group associated with the billionaire philanthropist George Soros, and $2 million from the American Civil Liberties Union, also based in New York. Billionaires Michael Bloomberg of New York and Abigail Wexner, the Ohio-based wife of retired Limited Brands founder Les Wexner, each gave $1 million.

We kicked “their” asses in Kansas last summer. With a big help from Catholic Women Voters. It was a pleasure watching their whining at the microphones after the race was called.

Caution: They will not accept defeat. Be prepared to fight their efforts long after you win this next election. They must control women’s bodies. It is a religious based sickness.

Pro choice vote is YES, the opposite of the August ballot initiative that thwarted the pugs from stopping referendum efforts in the state. Whatever they can do to confuse and obfuscate they will be sure to do.

The Christian governor and his wife aren't too holy to spew out a pack of lies in their TV spot pushing the anti-choice folk to vote against this issue because it "just goes too far." They're just one of a stream of similar liars spouting fear inducing BS. After all the effort at mind altering, I hope Ohioans remember how much against the taliban's abortion ban they are.

It’s as if they know they’re wrong on the issue

In Kansas, if you were for abortion rights you had to VOTE no on the issue. And the vote which was for a constitutional amendment was held during a primary election. Set up by Republicans. Constantly manipulating, never governing.

Maybe it will work to your advantage. “They” never know who they might confuse.
