Accounts Musk recommended on X belong to a teenager and a U.S. soldier

A social media account recommended by Elon Musk for its coverage of the Israeli war with Hamas with a long history of antisemitic posts is connected to a southwest London teenager, according to research and a text exchange with the account.
The @WarMonitors account on X, formerly Twitter, is one of two that drew hundreds of thousands of new followers the weekend that the Palestinian group rampaged into Israel after Musk recommended them.
The second account Musk recommended in the now-deleted post, @sentdefender, has been identified by a research company as belonging to a member of the U.S. military from Georgia who has amplified Russian propaganda. As previously reported, both have spread false information, including reporting a nonexistent explosion near the White House that sent stock prices down.
Both accounts were among seven cited a week ago by researchers at the University of Washington as the new elites of influence on X, with more than 1.6 billion combined views in the first three days of the war.

He also came out officially against US aid to Ukraine.
This is a guy we rely on for technological assistance to Ukraine. Musk a national security risk.

(4,076 posts)What will arise after the constitutional-democracy of the USA collapses, we know not.
I posit that it will be the abolute-ists in this country who sink it by impeding all attempts for rationalizing the mythologies of free-speech and gun bearing rights (to the detriment of all other rights.) The first and second amendments have become false religious-principles based in ridiculous and faulty predictions, understandings, and reasoning, of either the founders or the present. Probably both.
The nation as it was conceived in 1789 will not survive by letting people lie without consequences in the new digital world, wherein the very fabric of reality is torn asunder.
Nor by letting people, unimpeded, satisfy their lust for 2nd-amendment celebrations, wherein the very flesh of souls are similarly shredded.
We do not all live in one objectively factual world, because too many live in worlds of illusions and delusions.
The random internet influencer who precipitates a viral wave of pre-teen 'gravity is a myth' high dive death -plunges to prove the "gravity is myth" challenge, will more likely be rewarded than reprimanded.

(126 posts)Excellent post, sir. Musk has turned out to be a nutcase, wanting Twitter to spread his autocratic views. Why in hell are we continuing to funnel billions in taxpayer's money to him for space research, there are alternatives. Besides that, hes trying to influence the outcome of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, by supporting dictator Putin.
I cringe everytime I see a Tesla on the road. I'm glad to see other brands hitting the market and that is where I will be looking when I go full electric.

This is one of the dangers that comes from individuals being able to amass such obscene amounts of money. Some people handle the power better than others, while kooks like Musk start thinking it gives them the right to rule the world.
This loon is extremely dangerous.
