Republicans say Britt being treated like Sarah Palin 2.0

Source: The Hill

Alabama Sen. Katie Britt’s (R) debut on the national political stage is prompting comparisons to another fiery conservative mom: former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R).

The comparisons took a new life late Saturday, when Britt’s theatrical appearance was parodied by Scarlett Johansson on “Saturday Night Live” — much as Palin was parodied by Tina Fey in 2008.

Even some Republicans acknowledged Britt’s delivery was “over the top,” but they viewed the intense backlash from Democrats and media pundits as driven by a fear that Britt’s aw-shucks presentation as a mom sitting in a kitchen might actually peel away women voters from Biden.

Britt is now being mentioned as a possible vice presidential running mate, the spot Palin filled on former Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign.

Standard Republican operating procedure.

Sure, they're the victims. Always. Dems and libs are mean. Try and salvage some sympathy points out of this.

It was a royal mess and mockery at all levels. Sorry (not sorry) you didn't like how it portrayed Republican "values" and completely set you back with suburban women.

It may make them feel better to think we're afraid of their Human Suit Barbie, but they've never been bright enough to recognize the difference between fear and contempt.

Their contention is that the Democratic fold is threatened by the notion of Britt on the con ticket. Just goes to show that cons don't learn. Palin became a national punchline until AFTER she was chosen for the ticket. Britt's national faceplant has come BEFORE the veep choice. And they think she would bring strength when the only thing she's known for nationally is being a fuckup? What horrible judgment.

But it's not like the Diaper Don would invite her now. He doesn't like associating with people he thinks are "losers" and right now her cred is in the dumps.

You assholes got what you want: Hillary Clinton did not get to serve as President. She will never be President. That's what you wanted. Evidently, you guys didn't check which monkey's paw you wished for that on. Crying 'poor us' at this stage is just childish.

Palin or Britt, both are embarassments to the party and the nation. I suspect Britt is a lot smarter, just cause Palin is so blindingly stupid it would be hard to reach those lows. She did get pretty low though, so valiant effort but in the end it was total jackassery and not believeable at all - not for one second.

Though she made no sense at all, at least her tone and demeanor was calm and soft, almost ASMR like, and she didn't even raise her voice is maniacal anger and cut a professional wrestling threat promo. I was shocked by that.
