ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) Members of Rochester City Council have written a letter to New York State Attorney General Letitia James calling for an investigation into the conduct of Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley.
This follows officer-worn, body-camera footage of the incident was released to the public Friday, showing Doorley repeatedly invoking her position as district attorney and refusing to follow orders.
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley drives home, calls chief before pulling over for police
This incident has led us to question her fitness to serve as District Attorney, and we believe an investigation by your office is warranted, the letter reads.
The letter also explained that as public officials, City Councilmembers and District Attorney alike are held to the highest standards of ethics, accountability, and respect for the law.
The behavior exhibited by Ms. Doorley during the traffic stop, as captured in the body camera footage, appears to violate these standards, the letter reads. Such behavior undermines the credibility and integrity of our justice system and erodes public trust.
All nine members of Rochester City Council signed the letter.

@WomanDefiner
Out of Monroe County NY. DA Sandra Doorley was speeding and refused to pull over. If you want to know what we are up against corruption wise this is about the clearest picture you will ever get. She basically tells the cop he has no power and she prosecutes her own cases so everything is a waste of time.
She's evil and people like this are making decisions that effect every single one of us. They truly believe the law doesn't apply to them. The original officer even warns his supervisor he's still rolling to warn him. A lot of weird stuff in this video.

(5,195 posts)Since I was agreeing with you, I am not sure what you are saying here. Except that maybe you find my agreement... bad... in some way?
I suppose the wording might be taken as me trying to 'correct' you in some way. That was not my intention. If that was what you perceived, then I am sorry about that. If it is not... then I am at a loss. Since the word is pretty clear in its definition, I also fail to understand why you see it as 'beating around the bush'.
But, I am nobody, so it doesn't matter anyway.

(2,250 posts)and a suggestion that my vocabulary was somehow not up to your standards. I do recognize that your intent, and mine, will not always come across as intended in print.
edited for typo

(5,195 posts)Yes, this new age of text as a sole means of expression is a bit tough due to a lack of physical presence which allows for more understanding of that meaning because of semantics and kinesics. But, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) ..............
Im the D.A., Doorley says to the first officer to approach her, standing outside her car and parked in a garage when the video begins. I was going 55 coming home from work.
55 in a 35, the officer says.
I dont really care, Doorley says. The officer asks her to exit the garage. You can call Dennis Kohlmeier right now, she says.
Why are you so upset at me, the officer says while Doorley dials the phone. Im doing my job. You just admitted to me you were going 55 in a 35 on Phillips Road............................
...............
I dont really care, Doorley says. I dont really care. You know what? If you give me a traffic ticket thats fine. Im the one who prosecutes it.
As more officers and a supervisor arrive to the scene, Doorley continues refusing to leave the garage, telling police shed had a bad day dealing with murders in Rochester.
Im going to prosecute myself, Doorley says later in the video. Do you know what Ill do with the ticket? Then she laughs.
In a statement Thursday, before the video was released, Doorley said she pled guilty and sent the ticket to Webster Town Court.

(267 posts)Our courtrooms are filled with people who had "bad days", and I bet she wouldn't show any one of them compassion.

Then he should have dialed this up on youtube and played it for her:
After all, it's apparent she likes her cell phone a lot.

(6,232 posts)... me. And when 45 gets elected in 2024, we will follow his admitted intentions: dictatorship, starting with taking revenge against anyone who questions MY authority.
Isn't her action an obstruction of justice, and should she be treated that way? Her actions deprived her community of adequate police protection, as two to four police officers were not able to protect others in the community during the "busy" 17:30 rush hour while she was obstructing.
Why shouldn't community members who get tickets for traffic violations simply plead the Sandra Doorley defense? I didn't feel like obeying a law that interfered with my daily schedule.

(35,807 posts)the first thing this idiot did was yammer her head off with the most inane speech that even a Rudy Guiliani-era stop 'n frisk detainee would know not to say. Recorded, no less.
I think it's most deserving that she have her first day in court in the "Court of No-Shame Whatsoever" on the internet.
She's quite convincing on behalf of the charge that she is indeed unfit for public office.

(21,931 posts)of multiple offenses such as not stopping when he was directly behind her with lights flashing... she says on the video that there were other cars on the road so she didn't know he was telling her to pullover, plus she was on the phone.
So she got off lightly with just the speeding ticket.... but now she may lose her job.
Makes ya wonder how often this happens.
