GOP lawmakers conflate standard FBI policies with an assassination attempt on Trump

Congressional allies of Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to misconstrue standard operating procedure at the FBI with what they called an attempt by President Joe Biden's administration to assassinate the former president during a 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago property for classified documents.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., wrote on X that the Justice Department and the FBI had plans to assassinate Trump and gave the green light. Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., posted on X that President Joe Biden ordered the hit on Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Trump's residence in Palm Beach, Florida.
The posts came shortly after Trump, who was not at Mar-a-Lago on the day of the FBI search, wrote on Truth Social that he had been shown reports indicating that Crooked Joe Bidens DOJ, in their Illegal and UnConstitutional Raid of Mar-a-Lago, AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE. Trump, who has often accused Biden of weaponizing the justice system against him, appeared to be referring to newly unsealed court filings related to documents found at Mar-a-Lago after the FBI search it in 2022.
In a rare statement Tuesday night, the FBI said that it had followed standard procedure during the search of Trump's property and that no additional steps had been ordered. The FBI followed standard protocol in this search as we do for all search warrants, which includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force. No one ordered additional steps to be taken and there was no departure from the norm in this matter, the statement said.

They are fucking LIARS !!!!!!
It is really that simple.
The trump cult are incapable of telling the truth.
Repubs have jumped onto the cult wagon and they have always been LIARS.
They are a destructive force against the U.S. and their policies since the 1970's proves this.

(2,494 posts)He flat out LIED. And he does that hoping some 'lone wolf' will do his dirty work for free and his idiot followers rack up more credit card debt sending him pennies.
He is the losing-est loser and he knows the losing is expanding exponentially. He is alone and desperate. Roy Cohn is dead, as is his cold-hearted dad, no longer there to save the chicken-hawk wanna-bee mobster from his own bad choices. Soon he won't get to wear his badly tailored blue suits and his trademark red tie will become anathema in the halls of governance.
In a few short weeks, he will file a law suit against the NY legal team that took his instructions instead of doing their best legal work, crying that the trial must be thrown out due to legal malpractice. He will hire more lawyers to appeal the case because the judge wouldn't cave. His diaper budget will need to be expanded.
I'm gonna need a lot more popcorn.

(17,434 posts)It isn't President Biden's Justice Department, or his FBI. So traitor is once again lying his ass off.
However, President Biden is Commander in Chief and one of his many duties is to defend the country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That part of his job isn't political, although it is lumped in with presidential political action. Politics is pomp, defence is circumstance. Sometimes, circumstances demand action. traitor is a clear and present danger to our country and traitor is lucky that nobody, so far, has sent the military to arrest him for his flagrant actions against the U.S. He is no better than an enemy leader directing troops to storm the defenses. He should be treated like that, just strip the cloak of politics off him and his army and neutralize the danger they pose.

(9,958 posts)the word "assassination," a word that, at least to anyone alive n the 60's, has a bit of a cringe factor attached.
Never would I have thought that I'd ever hear a Presidential candidate accuse a sitting President of an assassination attempt.

This has been done thousands of times, for decades, & apparently they're just now finding out?

(4,309 posts)Not only on the part of TSF, but also extending to his followers.
From Wikipedia:
"In psychology a person who has a martyr complex, sometimes associated with the term "victim complex", desires the feeling of being a martyr for their own sake and seeks out suffering or persecution because it either feeds a physical need or a desire to avoid responsibility. In some cases, this results from the belief that the martyr has been singled out for persecution because of exceptional ability or integrity."
And his MAGA followers totally buy into the notion that he's being singled out for exceptional ability or integrity.

I was at our mailbox yesterday, on our little country road, and some idiot drove by slowly with a big trump flag flying in the bed. I didn't see him till he was already past, but yelled--get off my road, ya f---king moron! And various other expletives, but he didn't come back. Probably just as well.

(5,634 posts)and see assassins who aren't there, but you assert they exist and are FBI agents sent by Biden with the task of terminating your favourite failed dictator, then:
1. You are paranoid.
2. Making stuff up to stir up your crazed followers.
Either way, some people need to seek help.
But it is a bad situation.
If something bad did happen to Trump, be it natural causes or otherwise, the crazies would be out on the streets trying to start a civil war.
