Uvalde families sue makers of AR-15, 'Call of Duty,' Meta over mass shooting
Source: ABC
Families of the Uvalde victims have filed a lawsuit against Daniel Defense, the makers of the AR-15 assault rifle, and Activision, the publisher of the first-person shooter video game series "Call of Duty," and Meta, the parent company of Instagram over what they claim was their role in promoting the gun used in the shooting.
The suit alleges the companies partnered to market the weapon to underage boys in the games and on social media.
The lawsuit filed on Friday, marked two years since the shooting took place.
Salvador Ramos -- the 18-year-old shooter who killed 18 students and two teachers and wounded 17 others -- purchased the AR-15 a week before the shooting, months after he began playing the latest version of the game and made several Instagram posts about weapons, Josh Koskoff, the attorney representing the families, alleged.

Federal agents who went to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday to confront a gunman who killed 19 children were told by local police to wait and not enter the school and then decided after about half an hour to ignore that initial guidance and find the shooter, say two senior federal law enforcement officials.

The US doesn't need gun control. When an 18 year old can buy a lethal rifle and shoot up a school, it has gone way beyond control.
The US needs gun OBLITERATION - stop making them, stop selling them, confiscate them all, make the tough guy gun humpers learn how to be tough without them.
And that constitution thing that says the average American can own a muzzle loader?
Antiquated, no longer relevant, delete it! The British ain't coming!

(10,951 posts)Sure, no problem, just:
An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification.
And all those people need to be told that no action on the subject implies that they effectively approve of the current situation.
Houses of Congress, State legislatures - all powerless to stop the next Uvalde? If so, why have those groups?
There is nothing sacred about the Constitution, and I don't think AR-15 gets a mention in the Second Amendment.
It can be rewritten, modified, deleted - if people wanted that.
Seems the US is OK with being at war with itself.
A fatherly fireside chat from the current POTUS to the Nation and a flurry of Executive Orders would change the situation overnight.
