Judge says Obama must appear in birther suit
By Agence France-Presse
Monday, January 23, 2012
WASHINGTON A judge in Georgia has ordered President Barack Obama to appear in court this week in a lawsuit challenging whether he is a natural-born US citizen qualified to be president.
The latest case was spawned by the so-called birther movement that has made claims which have not been substantiated that Obama was born overseas.
Although it is unclear whether a court could force a sitting president to appear in a court case, Georgia Deputy Chief Judge Michael Malihi has denied a motion by the presidents lawyer to quash a subpoena that requires Obama to show up.
A Georgia resident made the complaint, which is intended to keep Obamas name off the states ballot in the March presidential primary.

The court will only be ordering Obama to appear once Taitz files, and the court grants, a motion to compel.

(15,031 posts)received his J.D. from Boston University, and from some of his decisions seems to favor preserving the environment over unfettered corporate development. And he's decidedly not "fat." And what the hey, he may not have made any such ruling about bitherism or Obama.
But golly, quick judgment based on little understanding and straight up ignorance of the facts makes for a satisfying moment, doesn't it? Perhaps it can provide you with insight for how an unfortunate subset of society makes its irrational beliefs their basis for action.

(25,592 posts)Then how did those 2 birth announcements get in the Honolulu newspapers at the time? Kinda hard to fake those.
In fact, how did Obama get sworn in as a Head of State of a powerful nuclear power? This country is not that far gone - at least not yet.
Of course Obama was born in the US of A.

Found this here at DU recently.
CIA Teleported Obama to Mars At Least Twice. Or Not.

And there was this as well, since the Obama adminstration knew the cat was out of the bag. This is the beginning of the big cover up.

Now that that's all settled, we can go back to trouncing Yosemite Sam's party, the GOP.

Richard C. Hoagland's "The Hyperdimensional Election Of Barack Obama And 2012"http://psychedelicadventure.blogspot.com/2009/01/richard-c-hoaglands-hyperdimensional.html
Which insanely curious and gullible persons such as myself have delved into, well, uh, just because... And it's much cheaper than cable, buying a movie or even leaving the comforts of the Batcave. You too, can take a free trip deep into the Twilight Zone for over an hour and see if you can make sense of the claim being made by this guy. Do yourself a big favor and skip to 29:00:
There is another collection of claims with the conspiracy fans and the Jones/Paul supporters, that Obama is not only related to the infamous bloodline families of Europe, but a direct descendant or the literal reincarnation of the Pharoahs of ancient Egypt. In other words, history is repeating itself through lineages that have an agenda spanning millenia for some extra-terrestrial purpose we're all being kept in the dark about, thus it's a conspiracy.
By the way, the Moon is a hollow artificial satellite and Obama's friends are all watching and controlling us from there, woo hoo!
Thus the story of Obama visiting Egypt early in the beginning of his reign as our benevolent (or maybe not) intergalactic overlord.
US President Barack Obama Visits the Pyramids
'...We talked about how Tutankhamun had captured the hearts of everyone in Chicago, and it suddenly occurred to me how much the president looked like the young king. I told him this, and he said that it was not the first time that someone had said the same thing...'
http://www.drhawass.com/blog/us-president-barack-obama-visits-pyramids
Frankly, I don't see the resemblence at all. Yes, we will long for the days when we had fictional Time Lords. Of maybe they were never fiction, after all:
There's a world of woo out there. Just so long as it doesn't get nasty, like the Jones group, etc., it's relatively harmless. Enjoy yourself.

(862 posts)that the President does not fill out the standard questionnaire and undergo the standard background check that all Federal employees undergo. This assumption, of course, is false. This is nothing more than a nuisance suit.

(2,830 posts)It is an administrative hearing, the judge cannot compel testimony.
Oily Taintz downloaded a presigned subpoena form and sent copies to something like 22 people.
None of the are required to appear.
The defense asked for the subpoena to be quashed, the judge refused. It doesn't mean that the judge ordered Obama to appear. This Judge doesn't have that authority.
