Trump claims Putin will be more 'generous' in peace talks than 'difficult' Ukraine

President Donald Trump on Friday, after decrying Russia's latest strikes on Ukraine and threatening sanctions until it stopped attacking, also said he thought Vladimir Putin would be "generous" in peace talks and described Ukraine as "difficult."

Answering questions from reporters in the Oval Office, Trump, while repeating that sanctions threat he posted earlier in the day, had positive words about the Russian president.

"He wants to end the war and once ended, and I think he's going to be more generous than he has to be. And that's pretty good," Trump said.

Asked whether he still believed Putin when he told him he wanted peace, Trump replied he did.

Who can tell what does Peace from Trump's point of view means?
Let’s talk about values. Because IMHO it's the core issue here.
Because values it's what about war in Ukraine is about. Not about territories but about values. Otherwise, we could have been transformed in another Belorussia and that’s it. No war at all and everybody is happy. But we have two revolutions in 10 consecutive years, and we showed that we do not want to be another Belorussia. Definitely.
Values can be shared or not.
If Trump says that for him is more comfortable to deal with russia than with Ukraine that means that putin's values are close to him.
And this is not about what he says but about what he does. The majority of decisions taken by Trump not only about Ukraine but about US allies and neighbors as well definitely tells me that it's true. "We will certainly obtain Greenland in that way or another". Seriously? The answer could be "yes".
Unfortunately.
Let's get back to "peace". According to Trump, putin (Mordor) wants peace while Zelensky (Ukraine) does not.
It is very important to understand the core goals of both parties.
Mordor: russia definitely does not want Donbass or whatever. It wants to destroy Ukraine as a country or conquer it. Thats it. No other goals. Oh no, Mordor can go further of course because Europe is the next target. Currently it finally became obvious for some European leaders.
Ukraine: wants do define its own destiny by its own. Because values translated by russia are not what we want to live with. Bucha is a good example not to talk much about. But there are plenty of other examples.

Thus, I still do not understand Trump's peace plan at all. Maybe I did not read "Mandate for leadership" and that's why I do not know the proper answer.
But what i see now that Trump is destroying the world order in line with putin.

The one positive thing i see is that not all Americans share Trump's values. Many Americans fight together with representatives of other countries in Ukrainian International Legion and other units. It's another good argument for me. Therefore, i would like to thank all of you for your support as well as for the support provided by previous US administration. We need to continue to fight as "poor peace is better than good war" is definitely not our case.
