Sept 24 (Reuters) - Multiple people were wounded and killed in a shooting on Wednesday at a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas, and the shooter was killed after a self-inflicted gunshot wound, federal officials said.

Police responded to reports of the shooting at the office in northwest Dallas at about 7:30 a.m. local time, local media reported.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in an X post that there were multiple injuries and fatalities and the shooter was dead.

"The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop. I'm praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families," U.S. Vice President JD Vance wrote on X, replying to Noem.

Two people are dead ICE facility in Dallas this morning, an ICE spokesperson confirmed to NBC News.
The three people shot are ICE detainees, a ICE spokesperon told NBC News. No ICE officers were hurt.
The suspected shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said. Noem posted on X that "there were multiple injuries and fatalities."
A motive is not initially clear, Noem said.
Dozens of police units have responded to the area and were dispatched around 7 a.m. local time, according to the Dallas Police’s active incidents page.
