'No, You Cannot!' Kristi Noem Denied Bathroom Access at Illinois Government Building

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was barred from entering the Village of Broadview Municipal Building in Illinois to use the bathroom on Friday.

In a video posted on X by conservative commentator Benny Johnson, Noem said she was in the Chicago area to “do some operations to pick up some guys with criminal convictions” when she was denied access to the federal building by city police. A voice can be heard telling Noem and her colleagues, “No, you cannot!” after they asked to use the restroom.

“As much as these local leaders and governors talk about cooperating and having the backs of our law enforcement officers, this is what we have to put up with every single day,” she said. “And all we’re doing is getting criminals, and terrorists, and cartels, and gang members off the streets.”

In a subsequent post on X, Noem wrote that “this is how JB Pritzker and his cronies treat our law enforcement” and that their behavior is “absolutely shameful.” She also noted that the Village of Broadview “receives at least $1 million in federal funding every year.”

The interesting "caveat" for the ICE facility was derived from the remark from the town spokesperson -

The ICE facility was apparently teeming with local cops dealing with the protestors and trying to keep them at bay and there may have been some altercation between the local cops to keep people away from the building, including her, and directed them elsewhere.

The rancor is shown in the above-linked article where further down it says this -

Noem visited Broadview’s Village Hall unannounced to ask for a meeting with Mayor Katrina Thompson, who was out at the time, the spokesperson said.

“The mayor returned her visit,” Ormsby said. “Mayor Thompson went to the ICE center, accompanied by the Broadview Police Chief Thomas, and officers, to ask for the illegal fence to be dismantled. The mayor was told by agents at the gate the secretary was unavailable to meet.”
