Former Marine fighter pilot Amy McGrath launches a second U.S. Senate bid

Former Marine fighter pilot Amy McGrath has launched a campaign for Kentucky’s open U.S. Senate seat, her second U.S. Senate bid after losing to longtime Republican incumbent Sen. Mitch McConnell in 2020.

McGrath in a social media post Monday morning featured a video of her walking up to a lone chair while saying, “This isn’t just a chair. It’s an open seat.” McConnell, 83, the Senate’s longest-ever party leader, set off what promises to be a fierce fight for his seat when he announced in February that he would not seek an eighth term.

McGrath is joining three Democrats already vying for the open U.S. Senate seat and at least three Republicans................

I have been listening to Amy McGrath on msnbc this morning. She is really good at explaining what is going on in Fed government with Trump and immigration.

I like her too, but she needs to use the word "politicization" correctly. I heard her say "politization" several times, which I don't believe is even a word.

I see politicization everywhere I look, not politization. Just looked it up in an actual dictionary and no where do I see politization.

I have a hard copy of Merriam Webster's and a World Book Encyclopedia Dictionary and neither of them has "politization" anywhere in them. Go ahead and use that if you want, but I will say it correctly.... politicization.

That said, I would also be elated if I never heard her say ever again "republicans used to be the party of national security." Her recall of history and data is WAY off.

But I totally support her candidacy.

Gave several times to her campaign in 2020.

Most hated politician in the country not named Ted Cruz at the time, mcturtle and somehow he crushed her.

Wasn't sure if it was rigged or voters were that ignorant and lazy.

McConnell amassed a LOT of power in his lifetime, and he certainly never let little things like 'ethics' keep him from using it to his advantage.
Kentuckians have been smart enough to keep 'Andy' as their governor. I trust them to elect McGrath, now that that 'Son-of-a-Mitch' is out of the picture!

Especially since McConnell is so close to getting in the pine box. Even if he isn't, I'm sure she'll fair well against an opponent who is either a total moron or closted frequent Grindr app user.
