Dr. Keith Ablow considering run for Senate seat, By Laurel J. Sweet
This one may leave voters scratching their heads, but world-renowed psychiatrist and best-selling author Dr. Keith Ablow is thinking of throwing his thinking cap into the U.S. Senate race if John Kerry is confirmed as Secretary of State.
Ablow, 51, of Newbury, who state records show has supported the campaigns of Republican candidates for office, including Charlie Bakers failed 2010 run for governor, could not immediately be reached for comment this morning, but in a statement said: The dysfunction in Washington and the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut are both signs this country needs help, and, if neither William Weld nor Scott Brown is the candidate to bring that help from Massachusetts to Washington, I will take those who have asked me to run much more seriously.
It is time, on so many levels, for real leadership based on the truth, he added.

(Politico also has an article, if you don't want to click on the RW boston herald site.)
I found this article via Media Matters, which cites some of Ablow's most outrageous statements on Fox Boobs:
Last April, when Obama said that a Supreme Court decision to overturn the health care law would be "unprecedented" and "extraordinary," Ablow claimed the criticism stemmed from the fact that Obama finds authority "untrustworthy" because his parents had "abandoned" him.
Ablow, however, saves his worst vitriol for the LGBT community. In 2011, Ablow drew criticism for his tirade against Chaz Bono's appearance on Dancing With The Stars, when he claimed the transgender Bono was a woman suffering from a "psychotic delusion," and told parents to shield their children from Bono's appearances on the show, lest they be encouraged to want to become transgender themselves.
For 2011, Media Matters named Ablow "Misinformer of the Year on LGBT Issues."
As i posted on DU at the time, Ablow advocated a "men's veto" for abortions in a foxnews.com article "Men Should Be Allowed to Veto Abortions."
It's easy to dismiss and trash KKKeith Ablow as a crazy fundamentalist crank. But I say let him be the general election candidate and give it away to the (D) candidate (Stephen Lynch, Ed Markey, whoever it is). Speculation as early as 2010 suggested Ablow wanted to run in 2014.

(11,464 posts)two recent governors in Mass. were republicans
Mass. is a big state, and there are many non-democratic areas in the state
Deval, the most popular politician in the state has already said he is not running as he will have served his two terms.
