Crockett: 'I see the government shutting down' in January

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) said Tuesday she predicts the government will shut down in January and that lawmakers will not pass any appropriations bills to keep the government funded before the funding deadline.

“I see the government shutting down,” Crockett said in her livestream “Crockett’s Quarterly Update” on Facebook. “One of the reasons that I am going to be a little bit more absent than I would like to be in my district, especially in January, is because we are going to have to stay in D.C. and if the government shuts down, I won’t be able to get out,” she said.

Crockett, who earlier this month announced her campaign to take Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) seat, said she does not view the likelihood of a shutdown happening as “partisan.”

“There is just one group of people that [couldn’t] care less about doing what they’re supposed to do, which is to govern,” she said on the stream in a criticism of Republicans.

The October-November shutdown was bad enough; to do it again would be deleterious to morale. Not that Trump’s minions give a rat’s ass about Civil Service morale. I also think that with the midterms coming, Republicans don’t want to get blamed.

even before Muskrat started to chainsaw his way through the government, complete with a cleanup-crew to to try to glue and tape the scattered parts and pieces back together.

Those endless "what did you do last week" nonsense emails, would have been enough to destroy any semblance of normalcy.
