White House Reveals Secret New Hospital for Trump, 79

Source: Daily Beast

Updated May 16 2026 2:57AM EDT / Published May 16 2026 12:50AM EDT

The White House has unleashed a frantic new push to move ahead with construction on President Donald Trump’s ballroom, which they now say is also needed to give the aging president a “state-of-the-art hospital and medical facilities.”

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche delivered the latest startling revelation in a court filing late Thursday that sounded as if much of it had been pulled straight from one of the 79-year-old president’s Truth Social tirades. It hailed the planned $400 million ballroom as a “gift to the People of the United States” that is being hampered only by preservationists suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

The National Trust for Historic Preservation sued to halt construction of the project in December after the East Wing was demolished to make way for the 90,000-square-foot ballroom without first obtaining approval. A federal judge blocked above-ground construction, though that order was stayed while an appeals court panel reviews the case, with oral arguments now scheduled for June 5.

In the wake of suspected gunman Cole Tomas Allen’s attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April (which, as usual, was not held at the White House), Blanche publicly pressured the National Trust to dismiss its lawsuit. But the organization refused. Trump is apparently still smarting from that rejection, as Blanche repeatedly accused the D.C. nonprofit of failing to show an appropriate level of sympathy after the attempted assassination at the dinner.

Sat May 16, 2026, 02:10 PM

they can staff such a facility. Doing so would require a full-time team of specialists, nurses, technicians and support staff on site. It would cost a fortune to have them just sitting around the White House doing nothing, waiting for the moment Trump suffers some life-threatening situation requiring immediate care.

Besides, each time there's been an attempted "assassination," Trump has been at a Bund rally, out on the golf course or some place other than the White House.

If Trump were to actually suffer a life-threatening event while at the residence (knock on wood), they'd have to first round up all the necessary specialists and staff, then rush them to his "state of the art hospital and medical facility." Hopefully, it would take hours. That's why hospitals like Walter Reed exist..

In the replay from a different angle at 0.32, the small tower in front of that closer to the beach that had been made a part of that complex, used to be a Holiday Inn that I remember staying in back in 1974 after my dad died... and the building to the left with the rounded roof, is the famous Boardwalk Hall. That is all located at the southern-most end of the boardwalk whereas his Taj Mahal (now a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino) was near the northern-most end.

Then it got all incorporated into a complex with that 2nd tower.
