Former RBS boss Sir Fred Goodwin to lose knighthood
Former Royal Bank of Scotland chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin has lost his knighthood.
Sir Fred, who was heavily criticised over his role in the bank's near collapse in 2008, was given the honour by the Labour government in 2004.
He has had his title cancelled and annulled by the Queen, following advice provided by Whitehall officials.
In the past, honours have only been taken away from people convicted of a serious crime or struck off.

As an example, Jeffrey Archer served a prison sentence of 2 years for perjury and perverting the course of justice (he lied, and asked another witness to lie, in a libel case about him using a prostitute), but was allowed to remain 'Lord Archer'. What may make the difference here was the knighthood was 'for services to banking', but it now transpires he gave bankers a bad name.

Going on about fat arses does not befit a knight of the realm.

And I certainly hope Dr Dre is never stripped of his doctorate.
