Remembering Peter Banks
Source: Yes World
We were deeply saddened to learn about the passing of fellow bandmate and founding Yes member, Peter Banks. He was a huge piece of the fabric that made Yes what it is, and our thoughts, sincere condolences, and prayers are with him and his family. Peter, we shall miss you greatly.

(11,136 posts)I've seen numerous remembrances, often quite lengthy - talking about his influence. I would have thought he wouldn't register much more than a footnote - and I don't mean that as an insult. He just always seemed like one of those footnotes - a good guitarist in a good band, but largely forgotten by the public since he left them - especially given how low regard 70s prog is usually treated. It's refreshing to see such notice.

(4,589 posts)Been a long time since I've listened to either. I only have the vinyl. This just might inspire me to drag out the turntable and all the rest.
Sad to hear this news. Plus it is sobering to realize the young musicians of the '60s and '70s aren't young anymore and by connection, either am I.

(1,588 posts)of Yes for 40 years, he was there for the conception and although I am a big time Yes fan, he was royaly screwed around.
May he rest in peace.
