Lindsey Graham targets Hillary Clinton on Benghazi

Source: Politico

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Tuesday predicted that “the dam is about to break on Benghazi,” and said that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would shoulder some blame.

“I think the dam is about to break on Benghazi,” Graham (R-S.C.) wrote on his Facebook page. “We’re going to find a system failure before, during, and after the attacks. We’re going to find political manipulation seven weeks before an election. We’re going to find people asleep at the switch when it comes to the State Department, including Hillary Clinton.”

Graham has been a vocal critic of the Obama administration for its handling of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Amb. Chris Stevens, among others.

Lindsey should remember how well it went for his party the last time they tried to demonize the Clintons.

would have been evacuated immediately after the first tower was hit.

Bush refused to allow any investigation for over a year and the corpmedia was too scared of Bush to call him out. Lindsey Graham was in full support of Bush and cared nothing for the loss of lives due to Bush's stewardship of information important to this nation.

GO TO HELL, LINDSEY, you cowardly, lying sack of crap.

"...find a system failure before, during, and after the attacks..."

It's the same system failure that allows you to sit on the Armed Services, Homeland Security and Judiciary committees. And I think we will also find "political manipulation" and "people asleep at the switch." But I don't think it will be quite what you think it's going to be...

"Senator."

I can't remember which MSNBC show it was on, but there was a segment about all the previous embassy tragedies during Dubya's term in office, and the Republicons sure didn't make a big stink about them.

The biggie for me was 9/11/2001--if you want to talk about a complete, utter failure to protect--that would be it. The GOP sure didn't demand to know why warnings weren't heeded by Bushco. I really don't think any of the Republicons care about who died, they're just using this as a political device.

that was 100% entirely the Republicans fault (cut on security on embassies)

And they are still *TRYING* to divert responsibility to Clinton.

I think that maybe he's not so sure of himself anymore.

Besides, everyone knows the 'murkin public has the attention span of a gnat (or a Republican voter). By next fall, they will have forgotten this manufactured "scandal".

If there's anything at all to it, it's that Congress voted to cut funding for security at our embassies.

And reminiscent of the McCarthy era.

Yes, he is looking to knock Obama down a peg or two but more importantly he is looking ahead to 2016 and trying to dirty Hilary Clinton so she won't get in the race.

The problem with endlessly investigating the same thing and nothing new turns up is then backlash sets in because the purpose becomes clear that it is not about finding the facts but looking for political dirt. I think that we are probably already at this point. The other thing that is damning for Graham is that Secretary Clinton requested increased funding for embassy security but every single Republican voted "no". Since none of these hearing address perhaps the key issue (funding history) then they really serve no real purpose.
