Toontown evacuated after explosion at Disneyland, police say

Source: Los Angeles Times

Police were evacuating people Tuesday evening at Disneyland's Toontown after a report of an explosion that appeared to have involved dry ice, authorities said.

No injuries were reported in the blast, which was called in about 5:30 p.m, Sgt. Robert Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department said.

"As a precaution we have evacuated Toontown," Dunn told The Times.

He said the dry ice appeared to have been placed in a plastic bottle. Officers on the scene were gathering evidence.

Personally, I think this guy is responsible for the explosion.

So if it is stored in a tight container pressure will quickly build up causing an explosion when the container suffers a failure from the pressure. I would not think that it would be that powerful though when in a plastic bottle -- unless someone also put BB's in the bottle.

but wouldn't do much else. I had a friend that did that one time after work in a parking lot. Put the dry ice into a Mt. Dew bottle with water, sealed it up and tossed it about 20 feet away. We had a good conversation waiting for it to pop.

E. Fudd. was arrested for carrying a not so concealed shot gun. Police said that when arrested, he was after that 'waskelly wabbit'. In a separate incident at the Warner studio canteen, a Y. Sam was arrested for discharging his weapons upon being refused an alcoholic beverage-the canteen being alcohol free. He was detained by a quick thinking floor show employee, B Bunny performing in the Drag show.
