Threatening letter to Bloomberg tests positive for ricin

Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Preliminary tests indicate ricin was found in letters sent this past weekend to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, New York deputy police commissioner Paul Browne said Wednesday.

Browne said the letter to Bloomberg contained a threat to the mayor and referenced the debate on gun laws.

Some of the emergency services workers who touched the letter are being examined after they showed minor symptoms of ricin exposure on Saturday, he said. The symptoms have since subsided.

Another threatening letter was opened by Mark Glaze, the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, in Washington on Sunday.

Both were addressed to Bloomberg and contained threats referencing the debate on gun laws.

Police say preliminary testing indicated the presence of ricin.

Police say civilian personnel who came into contact with the letters were not showing any symptoms, but some officers who later examined the one in New York were.

Its not a stretch that gun humpers would also be terrorists. If you cling to one tool meant to kill and harm why would you think twice about using another?
