White House 'extremely disappointed' with Russia

Source: AP

The United States is "extremely disappointed" in Russia's decision to grant asylum to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, the White House said Thursday.

In its first public response to Russia's move in defiance of U.S. wishes, the Obama administration said it was not a positive development for U.S.-Russia relations and said that it undermined Russia's record of law enforcement cooperation with the U.S. The White House added that it is re-evaluating whether President Barack Obama should attend an upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"We are extremely disappointed that the Russian government would take this step despite our very clear and lawful requests in public and private that Mr. Snowden be expelled and returned to the United States," said White House spokesman Jay Carney.

I doubt very seriously if they will cancel Obama's meeting with Putin or boycott the upcoming Olympics. This is nothing more than bluster on the part of the administration IMO.

Then look at the closeness of the best seafood resources.

Factor in the next 10/20-100 years of global climate changes, along with the drouts, expanding deserts (in the usa), wildfires- that do go hand in hand with political strength of countries rich or weak in natural renewable resources.

Russia, along with Canada are in a much stronger position on the climate change world map. That prime position gives them rising political power and they are starting to use it.

according to Russian acquaintances of mine. And the W House is disappointed. WTF are they going to do about it? Send somebody to snatch Snowden? Whoever tries will end up very dead very fast. Drones? Russia has drones and can hit back. Invade? NFW. This is the BIG BEAR and will eat any invader. Just ask Napoleon, Hitler and a number of others.
