Veteran GOP strategist endorses, advises McAuliffe

Source: WTOP

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Longtime Republican political strategist Boyd Marcus is endorsing Democrat Terry McAuliffe for governor and will advise his campaign.

Marcus was an architect of Republican former Gov. Jim Gilmore's 1997 successful campaign. He also has advised the campaigns of U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Richmond.

Most recently, Marcus guided the aborted gubernatorial bid of Republican Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, who has refused to rally behind the man who won the GOP nomination, Ken Cuccinelli.

Marcus tells The Associated Press he's endorsing McAuliffe because he sees him as the candidate willing to work with both parties to get things done.

While he wouldn't promote the sick social things, he's in line with the 1%ers all the way. Wish they had a real Dem, and not the middle of the road, Repug lite. However, he's def. better than heavy Repug, Cucinelli. So sick of Dems having to hold their noses during votes.
