Obama administration covers up missile theft

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by maddezmom (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

The Obama administration is covering up the theft of 400 surface to air missiles by "some very ugly people," the lawyer for a Benghazi whistleblower told WMAL Radio in Washington D.C. last week. Joe DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, represents Mark Thompson, who was Deputy Coordinator for Operations in the State Department's Bureau of Counterterrorism.

He was referring to MANPADS (man portable air defense systems) such as the American Stinger or the Russian SA-24. They're now in the hands of al Qaida, Mr. DiGenova said. The theft was the reason why the administration shut down 22 diplomatic missions, he said.

"They were afraid that there was going to be a missile attack on one of the embassies," Mr. DiGenova said.

Fear that U.S. troops coming to the rescue might be shot down may also be why no help was sent during the seven hour siege of our consulate in Benghazi and its annex on 9/11/2012, he said.

The first plausible explanation for that Security Fire Drill we were treated to this month...from another whistleblower, you will note.

2. Posting an OPINION of a RIGHT WING columnist in LBN? Is there any depth of ODS too low???

This is an opinion column. It says it right there in the url.

Jack kelly is a right wing opinion columnist, to the right of Charles Krauthammer.

Disgusting. This is like posting the rantings of Ann Coulter as LBN. Get a hold of yourself.

9. I see no point to your asking the question:

"Is there any depth of ODS too low???"

The answer to that query should be obvious to all by now.

No matter how low they sink today, it's never as low as they will sink tomorrow - and the next day, and the next.

11. I doubt there were any missles stolen...

The ONLY news reports corroborating the story are RW "news" sites: Breitbart, Newsmax, The Blaze, Fox News, CNS, et al.

6. Where

Where were they stolen from, who was in charge of these MANPADS... I need to see proof, because this Benghazi bullshit has been turned around too much, ending with the right wing faking emails to make Pres Obama look bad.

12. Joe diGenova is no newsman.

Who Are The Right-Wing Media's Benghazi Lawyers Victoria Toensing And Joseph diGenova?

Victoria Toensing and her husband and legal partner Joseph diGenova are pushing claims that anonymous State Department and CIA "whistleblowers" have been blocked and threatened by the Obama administration to prevent their testifying on the September 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya. 14. "project to supply missiles from Libyan armouries to Syrian rebels."

02 Aug 2013

CIA 'running arms smuggling team in Benghazi when consulate was attacked'

Up to 35 CIA operatives were working in the city during the attack last September on the US consulate that resulted in the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, according to CNN.

The circumstances of the attack are a subject of deep division in the US with some Congressional leaders pressing for a wide-ranging investigation into suspicions that the government has withheld details of its activities in the Libyan city.

The television network said that a CIA team was working in an annex near the consulate on a project to supply missiles from Libyan armouries to Syrian rebels.

Sources said that more Americans were hurt in the assault spearheaded by suspected Islamic radicals than had been previously reported. CIA chiefs were actively working to ensure the real nature of its operations in the city did not get out.

So only the losses suffered by the State Department in the city had been reported to Congress.

Note - source is CNN. Telegraph is simply re-reporting as the media does.
