Bologna was supposed to answer the board's questions about the incident at an interview Friday morning, but CCRB Chairman Daniel Chu issued a statement saying the grilling was "cancelled at the 11th hour by the police department for unspecified reasons."

From "60 Minutes" interview with NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, (who Obama wants to head the Department of Homeland Security)

"It is nearly impossible to walk a block in lower Manhattan without being on television.
There are 2,000 cameras and soon there will be 3,000.-- all of which feed into this control center housed in a secret location." (Doll..Village Voice. Sept. 26, 2011

Anthony Bologna needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Isn't he supposed to be a "peace officer"?

Thanks for posting that video..I hadn't seen that one before.

. . . They have no actual authority over the NYPD. It can investigate, sure, but ultimately it can only recommend, not compel, disciplinary action. And the NYPD brass has to agree to any prosecution brought by the CCRB.

It's nothing new, but now everyone has a video camera and there are so many security cameras around. So unnerving, like scenes from Nazi Germany.

This might be nothing more than the court reporter conveniently calling in sick the Friday before a long weekend.

Let's save the outrage until he actually gets off the hook, which, I admit, is all too probable.
