Midair helicopter collision kills 7 Marines.

(CNN) -- Two helicopters collided in midair during a training exercise in Arizona, killing seven Marines, the U.S. Marine Corps said Thursday.

Wednesday night's crash occurred during routine training operations at the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Carl B. Redding, Jr., said in a statement.

The two aircraft, an AH-1W "Super Cobra" and a UH-1Y "Huey," were part of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.

Authorities were investigating the collision, which occurred in a remote area of a training range complex, Redding said.

It's absurd to not train against the possibility of contingencies. This was a training accident, a sad, regrettable training accident.

You have no idea what people might be dead serious about in this world.

I take people at their word, particularly when they don't give me a nudge to suggest otherwise.

Impossible to hear "tone" over the internet--unless we're talking YouTube.

Think again..... Arizona. ARIZONA Think Arpio, Brewer, Jared Loughner! Of course, if they were "training" to liberate the state, well....

My respects to the lost and my condolences to their loved ones.
